Nothing wrong with visiting places, what's cancer is people visiting places just to appreciate diversity. You go to see other cultures work in their own context, not leech them into yours, or better yet ignore the culture and go for the natural wonders you can't get anywhere else.

2019-05-17 00:42:01 UTC

this is what tourists to NYC do, waste of money if u ask me

*S O C I E T Y*

2019-05-17 01:53:39 UTC

Meh, I hate cities so I can't say I disagree, but I'd never fault a foreigner for visiting Yellowstone or the Appalachian trail

2019-05-17 01:54:18 UTC

God made some pretty cool shit, no reason not to see as much as you're capable

2019-05-17 02:11:15 UTC

This is true

2019-05-17 02:11:36 UTC

But cities with real architecture are pretty cool to look at too

2019-05-17 02:11:58 UTC

But so obviously go on hikes and shit

2019-05-17 02:12:01 UTC

That was fun

2019-05-17 02:12:09 UTC

Brings back good memories during Boy Scouts

2019-05-17 02:20:47 UTC

I admire archetecture and history a lot, I'd love to see the Vatican even with all the smelly third worlders stinking it up, but I've yet to see a work of man's hands that can compare to the natural wonder of creation. Man may be a good architect, but God is the best by far.

2019-05-17 02:38:18 UTC

Fair enough

2019-05-17 03:02:28 UTC

A better aesthetic city will lead people to assume that this city is inherently valuable to the point people don't want it to go down the drain. The same as how if a community holds inherent value to an inadequately aesthetic small town, the people love each other because of what they represent and how they act in their environment and to the nation that they reside.

2019-05-17 03:03:48 UTC

That seems fair eh?

2019-05-17 03:05:52 UTC

I definitely believe that. Aesthetics impact behavior like little else

2019-05-17 03:07:53 UTC

That's why corporatism did so well in the 80s, cities got united under that corporatist, gray, international style aesthetic and the yuppies loved it despite it being hideous and soul crushing

2019-05-17 03:09:00 UTC

It's only now for new generations we see the impact it causes.

2019-05-17 03:09:29 UTC

Social media has a large part in this too by exaggerating it.

2019-05-17 03:12:29 UTC

Social media really is a cancer
