For quick finish of some kinds of miniatures, consider chipping medium, or pigments

what would the chipping medium do?

It works this way:

You first paint with a base of rust-color paint

Then you apply a layer of chipping medium (usually with airbrush)

Then you paint with the normal paint

Then you slightly rub with a brush, and bits of paint will chip off

Can you apply chipping medium with a brush as a last resort?

There is one thing you must consider

For speed painting, you must study what are the few strategic high precision clean strokes you will need

washes and fry brushing are not enough at times

i'm not trying to speedpaint per se, i'm just trying to get em painted to a level i like without taking a week per mini

i have a very big backlog

including a 1500 point dark eldar army

and skaven

lots of skaven

Well of course, that is just a different motivation

oh and slaaneshi demons, but i paint those up real quick

i am trying to speedpaint the skaven though

they're just cannon fodder anyways
