i consider the dlc as part of the game

mechanically fallout new vegas is the better game. But i never paid much attention to the stories. Prefered to know more about thr lore but it aint as good as fallout 3 lore and side stories

I loved the dlc

Mothership Zeta was fun, and I remember having fun with operation Anchorage, but for the big DLCs I barely remember anything about them tbh

I remember one was literally just straight up fixing the plot hole of "why not just have Fawkes push the button?"

And the other one had the mutants

I guess the island one was pretty good but that one also didn't really stick with me

I think as far as the off the wall goofy stories Old World Blues beats that ome 100%

Mothership Zeta was just on rails like Anchorage. No real replay value but they were fun linear experiences

But New Vegas had strong DLC all around, Honest Hearts being probably the weakest and only for the lack of flavor quests to fill out that map

nw is glitchy af and has aiming down sights which makes small arms a dump stat

lore is better but its still vidja level writing

legions the only choice which makes sense ingame because all the other factions are stupid
and legion is le ebil puppy kicker faction

the 3d fallouts are best when youre exploring some abandondend ruin, or skulking the dc downtown
shotgun a buncha ghouls in the metro, then run away from the horde to the surface, only to be caught in a raider-bos-supmutant three way
sneak around sniping straglers, planting mines
and watch out for reinforcement s

down a pharmacy's worth of drugs, get addicted to half of them and barely limp away with all your limbs broken

does nv offer anything close

Idk just everything in general, combat, quests, ect.
I also liked the wild west environment/feeling of the game

3 is very metropolitan I guess, if that's what you're into. I dug the cowboy vibe, struggling against the environment just as much as against other people in NV. It's more like a Rurex game than an Urbex game, and I've always found Rurex content more compelling even in real life.

as far as survival goes its pretty lackluster

It has more features than 3, and water doesn't instantly heal you every time you find a drinking fountain lmao. If you play hardcore you actually have to grapple with hunger, thirst, and sleep, and it makes the survival skill pretty handy with what you can create from scrap.
