The soul immediately encounters God's present after death in their particular judgment. Similarly God often makes Himself known directly to people when they are dying
He can present to their mind everything standing in the way of their salvation, and they can choose to hold on to those things or reject them
Regardless of how they lived the rest of their lives (Matthew 20:12-16)
God makes this opportunity available more frequently to people who have attempted to live righteously, even if they were objectively wrong
If they turn from all their sins and errors, they can be saved because in those moments they become Catholic.
If your priest was preaching differently then he was in error.
**Matthew 20:12-16 - Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)**
```Dust
<12> saying, 'These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.' <13> But he replied to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? <14> Take what belongs to you, and go; I choose to give to this last as I give to you. <15> Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?' <16> So the last will be first, and the first last." ```
Your priest is in error and what he says is a monstrosity.
People who seek God don't follow a pedophile warlord, a bunch of talmudists, or the everchanging hindu monstrosity. We could as well add satanists to the list
In regards to indigenous or those unaware of the catholic faith, salvation is possible for those who adhere to the natural law of man embedded into our heart soul and mind (10 commandments) The problem is, due to frail nature of humans we are prone to sin so easily and this is why we need the sacraments of the church. Problem with protestants is for every time they sin, they have no way of amending it unless it is a perfect act of contrition in which is nearly impossible. This is why we proclaim that there is no salvation outside of the church because it is so difficult without God's Grace in His sacraments. @trad daddy
Back in the day, I always assumed I'd be married and have at least 1 child by the time I'm 30. Now that I've just turned 28, I'm thinking I should probably put a few hours into that. 🤔
How would you find a woman? Can you ask your parents
Oh, my parents aren't Catholic. Matter of fact, I'm the only religious person in my family, let alone Catholic.
There's quite a large Catholic population in Oxford, and seeing as they're mostly students, it means I can date younger. 😏
Can't help but feel I'm a bit too rough around the edges for them, though.
That's okay, if you are you can work on that
Most likely. If not, there's always Catholic match.
How about you 'orrible lot, single, married, etc.?
Or your parish?
My parish is in Oxford, but Oxford just has a very large Catholic community.
'Cause you've got Blackfriars right next to the oratory.
Then there's the chaplaincy. But that's a bit too.... "Jesuit" for me.
Interesting note, the amount of Jesuit bants from oratorians is surprising.
Best one-liner from the pub when talking about st. Philip was "I can't imagine a world with no oratorians and twice as many Jesuits."
@yellowsash I would look into the appropiate christian discussion groups
Can you pray for me, i have an unplanned wisdom tooth extraction this morning
@Mozalbete ⳩ I wasn't asking for me
Does anyone see young healthy couples walking around America anymore?
I did when I was in the rural South
I've got a few in my parish, actually. At least, I did until they moved away. But it was good to see.
just seems I dont see any where I live
like this just doesnt exist in America anymore
You'd be wrong, thankfully.
As a matter of fact, my older brother is at a wedding right now, and he's going to another one in two weeks. My older sister has been invited to one next week. That's three young couples, all certainly Christian, and most likely Catholic. In one month.
😦
must just be where I live
rundown small town in a very liberal part of the country
Might be.
All the more reason to be forthcoming about your faith! You could have a strong impact on some people.
maybe
just makes me feel isolated and lonely sometimes
like the world is leaving me behind in regards to finding a woman. I've never even kissed a girl, and I'm 22!
I know how you feel. Though I am five years behind.
So I've still got time.
