Whilst the Orthodoxy of Ireland could be argued (I personally don't buy into the argument) until later after the schism, it was the Synod of Rathbreasail, which was convened by Irish, not English bishops, in 1111 AD, which accepted Roman primacy.

The English invasion didn't take place until 400 years later in 1536, and by that time, England had been separated from Rome for around five years anyway.

I suppose the Norman invasion could be a point, but that took place after the councils which encouraged Gregorian reforms, so I certainly don't buy into it. Besides, the main intentions of Henry II's invasion was to exert dominance over Norman warlords and the Irish kings.

There is also very little proof of the actual existence of the Laudabiliter bull.

Well, I learned something new today.

I had another very bizarre dream last night.

I woke up in my house, went downstairs, and there's somebody wearing a tunic.

He says "hello, I'm St Peter, I hope you don't mind me staying here."

(Before I go on, I'm not claiming to have witnessed an apparition)

He then tells me that he's going across the Sea of Galilee at lunchtime to meet Jesus Christ.

So, I go for a nap, so that I can be nice and fresh to meet my Lord.

I wake up, and it's 8pm.

St Peter is downstairs, and says "ah, you completely slept through the day."

I realise I've missed the trip to Galilee.

I'm completely furious, and start shouting profanities at St Peter.

I'm horrified that I would treat the Holy Apostle in such a way.

I asked him if I can meet Christ again sometime, and he says "No, sorry, He ascended this afternoon."

I'm so damn lazy I missed the ascension of our Lord...

Gonna be honest

I thought you were setting up for a joke, at first.

And although I don't really care much for that Freudian hoohah, I do think occasionally our dreams are trying to tell us something.

Case in point.

And now for something completely different.

I'm going to break 2pl8 on Squat and 1pl8 for reps on Bench this next week, I can feel it.

Read about a priest who is held in very high regard by all of the fathers in my parish.

He was the spiritual father to my own spiritual father. I suppose one could argue he's my spiritual grandfather, as it were.
