@Mr. Byzantium Why does it have to have gluten in it?
Also, I have medical publications and my lab peer reviews people too. What's sad is that a lot of studies get passed that just suck.
My dad is a surgeon and they have monthly journal club where they all just go through new papers in surgery stuff and they just tear them apart. So many are garbage
@Mozalbete ⳩ What's insane though is that the high IR journals will turn you down for the smallest stuff sometimes. Your whole study will be good but they'll ask you to reverify your data a 4th or 5th way even though you've already verified it with 3 different methods.
I'm in the BR field FYI.
They will turn you down for things that do not matter at all, but the unpaid reviewer are not going to replicate what you do or say.
I work on comuter science
Oh yeah, I do reviews lol. We don't check their actual work per se.
We go through the whole paper and send it back and tell them how garbage it is though
One recently didn't have a control group lol
I was baffled
It was also littered with grammar issues (came from China)
Anyone with half a brain can just mention a million methodologies that weren't actually used, or "ignore outliers", or use convenient statistical emthods, etc
Chinese people are that way
Yeah, it's pretty awful at times.
Peak example
Wait, wrong one I think. Right topic, but wrong video to explain it
Got my first warning from Big Zucc, lads.
Feel like I'm one of the cool kids now.
There's the right one
Le sciencitif concensus face
Recently, my team started working on a CS field. We tested an existing technique, using the very implementation that the author provided and the same data
The results were much, much worse than those reported in the paper. The paper has several hundred citations
Peer review has been awful for the sciences.
I mean, I probably couldn't suggest anything better, but still.
Remember when that guy got zucked for saying "pedo enabler"
Facebook itself is a pedo enabler
Figured out why I got my content warning
It's because I name all my images and memes autistically after the subject matter, so I posted a memri and I imagine the filename got picked up in an autofilter.
Doesn't seem that bad
The more citations you have the less likely people are gonna doubt your lies
Peer review is shit because people basically treat it as divine revelation now
Anything that relies on "The majority says it's true" as it's deciding factor, always ends up being retarded. Especially when "The majority says it's true" becomes the standard enforced by the state.
REALLLY MAKES YOU T H I N K
when is it all gonna crash down i wonder
How the fuck can people still call any criticism of Jews "antisemitism" when they are constantly pulling nonsense like that?
protect the minorities
at all costs
