@DoNotXD Are you a catechumen?

2019-02-05 05:07:21 UTC

I have heard that term before but unfamiliar with it.

2019-02-05 05:07:52 UTC

It means that you are actively learning about the Church in the church

2019-02-05 05:08:00 UTC

Are you someone being taught before formal acceptance?

2019-02-05 05:08:41 UTC

Then as of now, not yet.

2019-02-05 05:09:10 UTC

I have only visited once, but it was a good visit, my wife also agreed.

2019-02-05 05:09:14 UTC

🤔

2019-02-05 05:09:22 UTC

Okay, good for you then

2019-02-05 05:09:31 UTC

I hope you will continue to look into things

2019-02-05 05:10:22 UTC

The worship of God in the Orthodox Church is modeled with influence of the worship from the times of the Jewish Temple period of the Old Testament

2019-02-05 05:11:13 UTC

interesting, thanks.

2019-02-05 07:15:13 UTC

@DoNotXD I'm a Pentecostal, also not a catechumen yet but exploring Orthodoxy

2019-02-05 07:15:43 UTC

At this point I'm pretty convinced it's the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church

2019-02-05 08:31:29 UTC

I'm in the same boat. Grown up a baptist and generally low church protestant, but went to a Serbian-Orthodox liturgy a few weeks ago, and still considering asking about how they handle catechumen, even if I don't speak a word serbian.

2019-02-05 14:28:38 UTC

Hopefully, they'll accept you. If not, you can always try the Eastern Catholics. We aren't the evil uniates the Russians would have you believe. 😉

2019-02-05 15:56:53 UTC

Im in this asian american christian fb group

2019-02-05 15:57:01 UTC

And it makes me want to gouge my eyes out

2019-02-05 15:57:29 UTC

Someone literally disagreed with jesus exhortation on divorce because “ it showed an unequal power dynamic”

2019-02-05 15:57:39 UTC

And i was like “thats heresy”

2019-02-05 15:57:44 UTC

And got shat on by the admins

2019-02-05 17:30:57 UTC

I tried my hand at vapourwave, here's what I produced after a few minutes of toying around with the editing programme. Thoughts?

2019-02-05 17:56:57 UTC

What editing programme is that?

2019-02-05 18:03:08 UTC

@Deleted User the high church Lutherans and Anglo-Catholics will also take you!

2019-02-05 18:03:18 UTC

Where are you from?

2019-02-05 18:35:11 UTC

@Daniil GIMP

2019-02-05 18:37:40 UTC

It's free

2019-02-05 18:45:10 UTC

Oh, that. I thought there was a special tool for that on the web

2019-02-05 18:50:46 UTC

So apparently I was called a Mormon by Catholics in /r/TraditionalCatholics for believing in a new earth, a renewed creation. Explain

2019-02-05 18:52:20 UTC

I don't know Catholic Eschatology, but I think it's similar to Lutheran Eschatology

2019-02-05 18:52:40 UTC

To believe we just stay in heaven is pretty Gnostic and Manichaen

2019-02-05 18:52:51 UTC

I got kicked out for it I think

2019-02-05 18:53:19 UTC

Matter and physicality isn't evil

2019-02-05 18:53:39 UTC

Orthodox and Catholics, give me an answer

2019-02-05 19:32:36 UTC

Our perceptions, even if they are related to out physical organs, are still mysterious and beyond pure materialism. I don't see why, at the very least, we won't have the same perceptions or something similar.

2019-02-05 19:36:26 UTC

@Mozalbete ⳩ So answer the question

2019-02-05 19:37:03 UTC

@Mr. Byzantium not sure about Catholics, but I think we Lutherans have a similar Eschatology to them and we definitely believe in a New Heaven and New Earth.

2019-02-05 19:42:35 UTC

This is a Catholic quote

2019-02-05 19:45:16 UTC

Yeah but a Protestant argument isn't going to hold up against a Catholic

2019-02-05 22:30:54 UTC

I was moreso taking a guess that they do believe in a New Heaven and Earth since I'm fairly certain that Rome and Lutherans have a similar view on this topic
