So. Opinions?
While it's all amusing, all those things seem pretty minor compared to the annouced gay crusade
It's all mostly budget cuts, not recriminalizing sodomy
@arsenicMysticist stuff about insulting Christ is a myth
I hate the Talmud, but the part talking about Jesus of Nazareth is not the same Jesus of Nazareth. The guy they're talking about comes from way before Jesus' time if you read the whole chapter for context.
I see no reason to not to think they talk about Jesus
They even hid it so that people would not know it
Censoring themselves
But like the story around it doesn't make sense...
If you take it to mean Jesus Christ
"He then went and raised by incantations the sinners of Israel.3 He asked them: Who is in repute in the other world? They replied: Israel. What about joining them? They replied: Seek their welfare, seek not their harm. Whoever touches them touches the apple of his eye. He said: What is your punishment? They replied: With boiling hot excrement, since a Master has said: Whoever mocks at the words of the Sages is punished with boiling hot excrement"
"Sinners of israel" is what "Jesus" was changed to. It is not a theory, it is what is written in the oldest known complete Talmud
I'm well aware of the citation. I just told you that the Jesus here is not the same one
And I'm telling you that I see no reason to think that, not to mention that they even censored it
Have you read the whole of Sanhedrin 107?
I have read the part where someone summons spirits who wanted to harm Israel
Not the only mention of "Yeshu" in the Talmud either
Also, it is not there, but in Gittin
Aight, different spots. What's the reference in Gittin?
56b and 57a
To answer that, go to Sanhedrin 43
There we see that it was under the Hasmonean dynasty
Which ended in 37 BC
The Jews changed a ton of stuff and even messed with the Hebrew manuscripts at times to make them anti-Christian
But there aren't references to Jesus Christ in the Talmud
Ah, yes, this Yeshu that was executed ("hanged"), along with his disciples in the eve of Passover is not Jesus at all
But Jesus Christ's disciples weren't hung with him on the eve of Passover...
You're aware that Jesus was a common name right?
I don't think you understand the Talmud doesn't try to describe historical events
Even if there was this reference to the events happening at most at 37BC, which I do not see anywhere, it would still be a clear reference towards Jesus
Because they hate Jesus
There is a "Yeshu", with disciples, who is accused of sorcery and executed with some kind of hanging in the Eve of Passover
And his **5** disciples
What I'm saying is that the only thing they share is the name Jesus and supposed sorcery
That is not a relevant deatail, because as I have said, it doesn't intend to be historical, nor say the truth, nor is it an important detail
the name
The sorcery
The execution during the Eve of Passover
The disciples
Accusation of leading Israel to apostasy
