I believe in Neo-Feudalism

2019-02-26 10:21:07 UTC

Where Dukes govern land but don't own it

2019-02-26 10:21:30 UTC

and it's possible for a peasant to become a noble via public service

2019-02-26 10:22:52 UTC

Isn't that strictly speaking more of an imperial beaurocracy rather than neo-feudalism?

2019-02-26 10:23:21 UTC

There's still a king and a nobility

2019-02-26 10:23:29 UTC

Also

2019-02-26 10:23:36 UTC

Each Duke only governs a town

2019-02-26 10:24:05 UTC

Is peasants can become nobles through service, then it's a meritocratic system

2019-02-26 10:24:28 UTC

His sons will also inherit nobility

2019-02-26 10:24:43 UTC

Good men raise good sons

2019-02-26 10:24:52 UTC

Fair enough

2019-02-26 10:25:13 UTC

So is there a cap to how big the nobility can be?

2019-02-26 10:25:46 UTC

You'd have to work hard to become a noble, you'd have to perform something like military service

2019-02-26 10:26:22 UTC

Hereditary Star Troopers beurocracy

2019-02-26 10:26:32 UTC

gang

2019-02-26 10:26:34 UTC

Plus distributism

2019-02-26 10:26:52 UTC

All families have a privately owned farm

2019-02-26 10:28:06 UTC

So it has a dash of Athenian democracy to it aswell

2019-02-26 10:28:21 UTC

I can get behind this

2019-02-26 10:28:23 UTC

More like Greek kingship

In Ancient Greece the average citizen knew and probably ate with at least one government official

2019-02-26 10:29:05 UTC

Could you imagine that today?

2019-02-26 10:29:32 UTC

Have you ever spoken to a member of your Senate or Parliament in person?

2019-02-26 10:29:38 UTC

Every easter the Austrian Emperor invited the homeless for a feast

2019-02-26 10:30:00 UTC

I mean, I have, but that's because I was a local party member at one point, but point taken

2019-02-26 10:30:26 UTC

Could you imagine a President or a Prime Minister inviting people for a feast?

2019-02-26 10:31:26 UTC

Every city will have a Duke

2019-02-26 10:31:45 UTC

thus their will not be much distance between the state and the people

2019-02-26 10:31:57 UTC

I believe in large but local government

2019-02-26 10:32:44 UTC

Amen to that

2019-02-26 10:33:07 UTC

How familiar are you with the Liecthenstinian constitution?

2019-02-26 10:33:15 UTC

Not very

2019-02-26 10:33:20 UTC

You should read it

2019-02-26 10:33:31 UTC

I'm familiar with Greek and Russian societies and I want to emulate them

2019-02-26 10:33:36 UTC

And just read up on LIecthensteins political system

2019-02-26 10:33:45 UTC

I will, thank you brother

2019-02-26 10:34:20 UTC

Yw fam

2019-02-26 10:34:47 UTC

My politics are basically feudalism + Distributism

2019-02-26 10:35:45 UTC

Makes sense enough to me

2019-02-26 10:37:58 UTC

It seems slightly self-conflicting when you say it like that, seeing as how feudalism is almost by definition an elitist system, whereas distributism is more proletarian, but since you consider power positions to be another good which can be distributed it makes sense enough
