I, as a catholic, will denounce every day the evil, cowardice, subversion and corruption in the Church, the Pope, the bishops, and the majority of the clergy. And some bishops, and cardinals, and clergy, having principles, also do so. And they are literally persecuted for this, but that has already been predicted even in apparitions of Mary.
And the pharisees didn't "take the law and expand on it". They were hypocrites, and for their own good, at times they twisted Scripture, traying to quote verses for perverse purposes.
I think at this point, it seems that "pharisee" means "non-heretic". Every single heretic likes to say that actual christians are pharisees for different reasons. And the more of a leftist libtard someone is, the more that person likes to complain about the "pharisees"
