I'm reading a book about constantinople by Isaac Asimov, he is really generous in his stance with Bizantium and the orthodox church, even calling it as the true religion, however he mentions Saint John Chrisostom and mentions he used to ask for strict celibacy from the clergy, is this true?
And if so, should we consider priest celibacy as a must? or the fact that it says "strict" celibacy implies it's not a full but rather truly controlled chastity in married life?

@arsenicMysticist From a synod presided by John Chrysontom, there were several accusations against bishop antonius, as collected by Palladius: "Accusations by Esebius against Antoninus (bishop): The charges fell under seven heads... ... sixth, that after separating from 369 his married wife, he had taken her again, and had had children born to him by her"
That is what I found regarding John Chrysontom
What we should consider is that saying that priest celibacy is some kind of modern invention is absolutely foolish, since one can read how it was, for many, what was expected.

How would I merge religion with conversion therapy? The physiologist I talked to said that I'd really be fucking up my chances if I were to choose to remain celebate for the near future.
Because getting "familiar" with women is a necessary step in the process. I'm too autistic to be religious and openly go against its teachings.

Computer Science is good for recent era, @Mozalbete ⳩
My cell data hasn't worked at all today either
Not for discord, YouTube, anything
I've been stuck at work
Also go into manufacturing instead of computers
@Deleted User what do you mean?
Don't have sex out of marriage
It's as simple as that. Not that it's easy, but it is a simple concept
@Deleted User You are being lied to. I know a psychiatrist that has succesfully converted homosexuals and that is not, at all, a step in the process. Not to mention that in some publications that mention the parts of therapy, that is not mentioned.
@Mozalbete ⳩ someone you know personally?
Yes
Oh
If you have any documentations or anything it I'd appreciate If you'd link them
I've been doing some self therapy and I've made slight progress, it's still very overwhelming and depressing
How do I read this
Left column: techniques
Columns with X VV M S N S M V X: how helpful it was. Right is best
The PM is average?
Number: number of respondents who gave that answer
PM: ration of those who endorsed help to those who endorsed harm
It's in teh footnote
