Khomiakov is one of my favourite theologician and philosopher

2019-04-11 06:30:06 UTC

@GodFearingEnglishman I was saying to one of the trads in Oxford that Mogg is a coward, and I was told that I was overreacting.

2019-04-11 06:30:16 UTC

Feeling pretty vindicated now.

How many of you have spouses or girlfriends of a different church and/or ideology and how hard is it to deal with in marriage as opposed to dating

2019-04-11 14:17:04 UTC

I'm Orthodox and my wife is a liberal protestant. I think it really depends on the situation, but in general I've found two things to be true. 1. Abandon all expectation that your spouse will convert. 2. Regardless of point #1, you MUST spiritually lead her.

@OrthoBro That sounds rough man

2019-04-11 16:37:44 UTC

It's not ideal, which is why the Church advises against it.

2019-04-11 16:39:17 UTC

But our kids are being raised Orthodox (by me), and she supports it. And it does force me to bring my spiritual A game more consistently.

2019-04-11 16:40:39 UTC

As long as you’re growing

2019-04-11 16:42:04 UTC

It does suck that we're not of one mind on this, though, and we are both growing. I say abandon any hope for her conversion more in the sense of not letting her eventual conversion become a prerequisite for your love for her, or something you tell yourself you can fix later about her.

2019-04-11 16:42:20 UTC

Those are traps that people considering marriage fall into.

2019-04-11 16:43:01 UTC

I’m at the point where (no offense to you) I’ve come to the final realization that the family unit is NOT the building block of a nation, the bond of men is

2019-04-11 16:43:45 UTC

I’m coming from an Evola-Pagan standpoint and that is one of my beliefs that never faltered post-conversion

2019-04-11 16:44:48 UTC

Does a Novus Ordo Catholic count as a different religion? <:eksdee:558283291292336138>

2019-04-11 16:44:56 UTC

Yeah tbh

2019-04-11 16:45:12 UTC

I think that we have a difficult time navigating the transition from eros to storge thanks to our idiotic culture.

2019-04-11 16:45:15 UTC

Liberal Catholicism is cancerous

2019-04-11 16:45:27 UTC

Tell me about it

2019-04-11 16:45:59 UTC

Storge is the love which creates nations, which includes the bonds of men, for the most part.

2019-04-11 16:46:09 UTC

Ice now reached the conclusion that while we should make an effort to reach out to our modernist brothers, ultimately, they're going to be as useful as a chocolate fireguard in the fight for tradition.

2019-04-11 16:46:30 UTC

Making it a point to convert right wing heathens before the former, now.

2019-04-11 16:48:17 UTC

Ice?

2019-04-11 16:48:51 UTC

Formal pagan converts are coming over to Christ in huge swaths, they’re going to be the vanguard of the reconquista

2019-04-11 16:50:16 UTC

The thing about liberals is that they're basically the thoughtless masses. They'll go along with whomever or whatever their TV's tell them to. It's the duty of thoughtful Christians to make sure their default will at least point them in the general direction of salvation.

2019-04-11 16:50:44 UTC

WLP had a word for the masses, they’re lemmings

2019-04-11 16:50:55 UTC

Which unfortunately means thoughtful Christians need to fight to gain worldly power and influence.

2019-04-11 16:51:19 UTC

There are people who that no matter what, don’t have the brains to see the larger picture, hence they’ll always be moving along in the crowd, amounting to nothing

2019-04-11 16:51:46 UTC

Yeah, I'd argue that's about 80% of humanity.

2019-04-11 16:51:54 UTC

Go up more

2019-04-11 16:52:01 UTC

Much akin to around 95%

2019-04-11 16:52:34 UTC

It’s a very whitepilling thing to know that alone, just your presence as an active member of a traditionalist society, you actually stand on the frontline that decides the course of history for millions

2019-04-11 16:55:04 UTC

That's always been the way of things. Whilst every life is important, the cast majority of folk "Don't matter" when it comes to sweeping social change.

2019-04-11 16:55:22 UTC

What we as traditionalists should really watch out for is the more modernist hard right ideas.

2019-04-11 16:56:09 UTC

Cyclical history can get a bit blackpilling yeah

2019-04-11 16:56:32 UTC

But it’s up to the select few who aren’t ignorant, to push the cycle along

2019-04-11 16:56:35 UTC

Maybe 5% of people are both smart and awake enough to be entrusted with decision making authority, but I'd wager like 20% or so will at least be capable of dealing with immediate issues intelligibly

2019-04-11 16:56:53 UTC

You guys know Price's law?

2019-04-11 16:57:39 UTC

Square root of the total number of people in an organization do 50% of the work.

2019-04-11 16:58:53 UTC

True of every organization I've ever been in, but apply that to nations: half of the people in the country are basically cannon fodder in history.
