The lawyer works with the original claim and makes absolutes that must be necessary for the origional claim to be true. He will most likely keep a book with the list of every single logical fallacy.

The socrat asks deep questions about the persons views in hopes of learning more about the claim and locate inconsistencies. As people can change their own mind when forced to answer questions about their views
