Venue probly if its gaytrail
Can power-vol down make it into flash ?
I've put it between two books so that the power button gets constant pressure so that it turns on the screen to show the battery warning every few seconds
I'll go for deep discharge
No I tried everything like that
It does go into flash but I don't see the screen and it doesn't take any input
If I plug it into the computer via USB, I can't write to the device either
The owner fiddled with the bios to install Linux and now it's ded
Aww shuck
Aint dells configed to autoupdate from usb stick ?
I mean throw new fimware at it
It shouls auto-process it as far as i know
And ofc in process reset bios
I believe dell has their own image for just bios resetting tablets
Due that
So if youbare lucky and that tablet supports fw update/reset vbios tool
Interesting, let me check that
But, I think he disabled the USB controller, too
Because nothing else boots
Probly under some name like "bios recovery 6264819"
As its part of self-check
And self preservation code incase idiots like ex user of that tablet
That repair technicians have some chance
I managed to get it down to 4%
Let's see if deep discharge is the key for now
I can still try that one later
It's losing about 1%/hour
hw do u check the batt
Rip battery
Lipo terrorist cell
i doubt it's going to work because there's probably a cmos battery in there
∆
I doubt there is one, it's way too thin to fit a button cell + Mainboard + screen
@whodun1t when the battery is below 5%, the screen turns on and shows "Low batter N %" for a few seconds
All it need is small corner somewhere
This seems to happen before loading BIOS
i've seen coincells thinner than a die+substrate
that are just soldered straight to the board
How long would such cell even last?
few years probably
