It seems like most Chinese are not interested in trying new cuisines or interesting new foods - other than for the photo
in USA, we'd be like "what do you want to eat tonight? mexican, chinese, italian etc"
in china, it seems most people would only eat food that isnt chinese in an attempt to be fancy, gain face, or get photos
rarely are they like "oh i feel like X non chinese food tonight"
this is all my own personal speculation though, dont take it as truth
i guess it makes sense since there are so many different chinese dishes
america doesnt have much in the way of personal old cuisine
you are not wrong on that speculation
i worked/still work on tourism industry somewhat and 1st complain on the list from chinks is that our lapland does not have chinese restaurant/s everywhere
even that local hotels tend to give option for noodle,hotsauces,etc and keep boiling water for free for their own teas,ramen,whattheshittheystuffintheirfaces.

other complains and hard to understand things : their driver license i not valid here (thank god), when X activity starts at Y hour ..you are expected to be ready at Y hour with clothes on and everything ... not arrive barely there by Y
