@HEKTIK @Droidbot recommendations for some over ears that wont break the bank?

2018-02-26 12:45:02 UTC

define break the bank

2018-02-26 12:45:19 UTC

<= $50

2018-02-26 12:45:26 UTC

ausbux?

2018-02-26 12:45:30 UTC

not asking for the best sound in the world, just something worth the price

2018-02-26 12:45:32 UTC

yeah ausbux

2018-02-26 12:45:36 UTC

open or closed?

2018-02-26 12:45:50 UTC

brb not sure what the difference is

2018-02-26 12:46:04 UTC

open means you can hear everything around you and sound will leak out

2018-02-26 12:46:16 UTC

hd668b / hd681

2018-02-26 12:46:19 UTC

are closed more expensive ?

2018-02-26 12:46:22 UTC

yes usually

2018-02-26 12:46:26 UTC

not inherrently

2018-02-26 12:46:31 UTC

^

2018-02-26 12:46:40 UTC

preferably closed then but its not a deal breaker

2018-02-26 12:46:44 UTC

closed backs are outperformed by iems tho at almost all price points

2018-02-26 12:46:56 UTC

ya sadly that too

2018-02-26 12:47:03 UTC

cop carbo tenore :^)

2018-02-26 12:47:16 UTC

well thats no good then whats the point

2018-02-26 12:47:22 UTC

wdym

2018-02-26 12:47:42 UTC

whats the point of spending money on closed over ears if you can just get iems that sound better

2018-02-26 12:47:49 UTC

closed headphones are probably more comfortable than iems for some people

2018-02-26 12:48:00 UTC

a lot of people dont like having silicone shoved in their earhole

2018-02-26 12:48:17 UTC

true that, that's one of the main reasons im looking for a pair of over ears

2018-02-26 12:48:44 UTC

also a lot of people immediately assume bigger = better, and iems shouldnt have as much spent on them as fullsize headphones

2018-02-26 12:49:05 UTC

there isnt really a lot of good cheap closed backs tho unfortunately

2018-02-26 12:49:31 UTC

CAL is above your pricerange too

2018-02-26 12:50:12 UTC

Out of the hd668b and hd681 which one would you recommend?

2018-02-26 12:50:42 UTC

681 is closer to neutral and is more comfy because it doesnt have the weird wing things

2018-02-26 12:50:45 UTC

has less midbass tho

2018-02-26 12:50:51 UTC

neither are comfy without a pad swap

2018-02-26 12:51:03 UTC

What sort of pads?

2018-02-26 12:51:11 UTC

sorry for the endless questions

2018-02-26 12:51:25 UTC

k240 pads are the cheapest but you'll lose even more bass from an already rolled off headphone

2018-02-26 12:51:59 UTC

the other option are some chinese pads for the audiotechnica art series

2018-02-26 12:52:14 UTC

i have a pair on my a500x and they fit the superlux with some stretching

2018-02-26 12:52:23 UTC

and theyre quite soft too

2018-02-26 12:52:28 UTC

theyre not super cheap tho
