i bought a bunch of BD-Rs so i can get rid of those 250 GB archive of shows
looking at the data rate though i'm worried the computer can't keep up since they're on an external HDD
Just get a tape drive
Better long term storage than bdr
Pay 3000 dollars for a tape drive to store anime series on
Your mom's dildo being delivered. 2019, colorized
Fuji LTO Ultrium-7 Data Cartridge 16456574 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019DGCRAW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KHTyDbZJWND85
Once you have the drive though the gb/$ ratio is great
Good call
If you have a deep library it worth it on the backend
yeah I already have the 250 GB backed up to 2 LTO2 tapes
this is the second copy
i have one of those giant dell tape libraries
It's a good idea for stuff like family photos and shit
obviously really old since it's LTO2, but since it's a library the 200 GB per tape isn't a dealbreaker
I bet you could find a cheap lto7 drive if you look around
my regular data stored on my server is backed up to crashplan
but they won't keep permenent storage i don't think, so once I archive it off the server it'll disappear from the cloud
one of these days i'm going to get a newer LTO drive that does the LTFS standard, where it literally shows up as a drive letter and you have simple access to files
obviously its slow
but its a great way to have long term storage
there was even a standalone LTO LTFS drive i saw that would dump SDI video straight to tape
Archive all the redpill jpgs on tape for the future generations of groypers
given the data rate and movies and stuff are sequential I'll probably put my video library on several LTFS tapes
