When you eat coleslaw 2 meals in a row
Cool image @GRUMPYGAMER
I saw a grown man wearing a backpack shaped like a captain America shield
Unfortunate
That was me
You should have said hi bro
Beardson is right. FFXV is a pretty good game if you give it some time.
Playing it on mouse and keyboard is a better experience
@prim f
Boyband sims do not interest me
That game was boring
It would have been a better game if it hadn't been rushed. As much as I like it I have to admit it lacks a lot of polish and serves for nothing better than an excellent proof of concept.
@GRUMPYGAMER he still posts to YT. Just stupid train mods thogh
@Jejune it's fun to run around and do sub quests if you turn off your brain or get slonked on the mid pack
What % of these 'subquests' are fetch
All of them are fetch quests
But you get good gear and extra time though

Still trying to figure out how the pure era console games made jrpg grinding and fetch quests tolerable, even fun
I think the lack of awful voice acting is a key component
You dont have to hear constant annoying jibbajabba
What did old school JRPGs have that newer ones lack?A lack of voice acting. Voice acting was fucking cancer for JRPGS. Anything about 20% or so of your dialogue voiced and you've got a shitty game on your hands. They also werent about playing as a woman and losing fights on purpose so you get raped
^
I noticed that when playing Kingdom Hearts 2 right before the 3rd dropped. I was listening to the voices dialogue and was like “this is cringe” and then I was reading the dialogue bubbles and I was like “this is comfy”
I remember playing GTA3 for the first time and finding the va hilar. The pedestrians random banter
Same for all the ps2 GTAs
Hilar dialogue
do you guys consider things like Link going HIYA or Mario's jumping exclamations to be voice acting or SFX? Because I feel like in action games you DO need audio cues to know certain things. But you don't need friggin quirky one liners all the time either. I feel like they have forgotten the proper balance between them that there used to be.
It's like devs saw that, thought "hey good idea lets make an entire game sound like that at all times but without quality performances or funny hahas"
san andreas gets me very nostalgic but if i ever try to play it again its vomit inducing
so clunky and grindy
I still like it
your dude needs to make noise when he does his attack or gets hit, and so do other NPCs. But I wish they stayed back with that instead of making everything like Xenoblade where everybody is yelling at the same time at once.
For me it’s usually specific to Japanese dialogue. Something about it just never sounds right when translated into English and voiced. It’s why I prefer subs if I watch anime
