My Freshman teacher only had one student pass. We all had to retake Algebra and she got fired next year.

2019-09-05 07:04:06 UTC

My Geometry teacher was a primary Germany teacher.

2019-09-05 07:04:06 UTC

my calc and linear algebra professor has a few kids in highschool and he sometimes has his kid's teacher come up to him and ask him for advice on math lol

2019-09-05 07:04:17 UTC

Who was a combination of being racist and sexist 😂

2019-09-05 07:04:30 UTC

lol ubermench right there

2019-09-05 07:04:30 UTC

Dayum.

2019-09-05 07:04:34 UTC

I know right?

2019-09-05 07:05:10 UTC

whereas math professors in college have a phd in math (or a masters if they teach at a community college)

2019-09-05 07:35:48 UTC

@Big T This makes me sad.

2019-09-05 07:36:01 UTC

whats that?

2019-09-05 07:36:34 UTC

The standard, or focus isn't held to the same degree sub college.

2019-09-05 07:36:51 UTC

Well, dependent of course.

2019-09-05 07:37:17 UTC

I don't believe the school/education system is doing too hot.

2019-09-05 07:37:27 UTC

oh regarding highschool/middle school. yup you typically need a bachelors degree, but not with any real focus. something that i think many ppl are not aware of

2019-09-05 07:38:01 UTC

this is why you would get answers like "it just is that way" or "because i said so" when asking why in math and other subjects

2019-09-05 07:38:27 UTC

the teacher did a refresher crash course in algebra the night before

2019-09-05 07:39:27 UTC

:^|

2019-09-05 07:40:36 UTC

i'd be surprised if they could even prove the quadratic formula

2019-09-05 07:40:52 UTC

Hit them with it as a POP QUIZ.

2019-09-05 07:41:22 UTC

Speaking of Networking.

2019-09-05 07:41:27 UTC

I have an interview in 2-weeks.

2019-09-05 07:41:41 UTC

The company is paying to fly me out, pay for hotel, car rental, and food.

2019-09-05 07:41:53 UTC

If I get this job I snag a 20-25k bump in salary.

2019-09-05 07:42:02 UTC

Anxiety is to one-hundo right now.

2019-09-05 07:42:10 UTC

Brushing up on concepts to smoothen the experience.

2019-09-05 07:42:33 UTC

ooo! that sounds promising.

2019-09-05 07:42:48 UTC

do you guys do interviews like software devs?

2019-09-05 07:45:27 UTC

I was surprised. My first interview was generalities on phone. The second was with the HR Director and Intern. The third was a conference call with the Network Manager, and a few Engineer's. I had to cram that into a 50 minute lunch session because the WebEx confirmation ID that processes my call into their conference room was borked. I was extremely anxious, and I didn't answer questions as smoothly or as in depth as I normally am capable of. I thought it went kinda mediocre.

2019-09-05 07:45:32 UTC

Possibly?

2019-09-05 07:45:37 UTC

The final interview is on-site at their HQ.

2019-09-05 07:45:49 UTC

I'll be doing a 4-hour interview with lunch provided on white board and stuff.

2019-09-05 07:46:11 UTC

I'm sure I'll be quizzed on different technical questions and then be asked to break it down.

2019-09-05 07:46:33 UTC

white board eh? sounds pretty similar

2019-09-05 07:47:20 UTC

for software devs they give you some oddball scenario and ask you to devise an algorithm or program to address it.

2019-09-05 07:47:43 UTC

if youve had that many interviews, then it sounds like very promising

2019-09-05 07:47:55 UTC

they wouldnt keep asking you if they didnt like what they see

2019-09-05 07:48:54 UTC

This is true. This is for a Junior Network Engineer position. I applied because of an online friend I know who originally was in this position before he moved due to family reasons. He said that they're a good bunch and are extremely reasonable with what to expect out of a Junior.

2019-09-05 07:49:37 UTC

Which makes me happy because a Junior is not supposed to have an Expert level certification, and 5-years experience...

2019-09-05 07:49:51 UTC

Some applications I come across. Phew.

2019-09-05 07:50:55 UTC

lol the ones written by some HR person who hears "it would nice if they had this" from the lead dev and translates it to "must have"
