Acknowledging that is different than saying there's nothing of value from a discipline.
We might as well throw out Medicine if that's your standard, don't go to a doctor. All medical research has 80% or more failure rate when "reproduced".

tbh, whats worse is that there is no way to fix that issue, you centralize and you start getting internal politics into it, you decentralize and it becomes a matter of marketing to get funding, there is no way to stop that from happening
There's ways to fix it, the academic bubble just needs to burst.
The journals are basically scamming tax payers out of their money
Universities, The government, Libraries
its not going to fix it, not really, not in such a way that it could work in perpetuity, it might work for a little while and then slowly transform back into what it was before the bubble burst
When it's been shown time and time again basically all peer review does is proofreading
It's just another way for people to scam the government.
These's journals aren't worth their subscription fee for what they provide.
And god forbid you publish publicly on some open access journal...
I've seen papers rejected from journals because the researcher published similar research to open access journals
There's lots of problems, but if you're talking about Psychology that's more on the sciency side, it's better than fields people perceive as being, "Harder science" like medicine...
true that, espcially considering that we have only started to test for how effective medicine is for women vs men in the last 3-4 decades and even then, its not a consistent thing, most of the time it just goes into checking if pregnant woman can use it, without an adverse effect on the fetus, not go the full monty and check if its just as effective with just as few side effects for women
