When you type "Blatant virtue signaling is obvious" into IGN's comment section

You will never be able to unsee this

2018-09-06 01:29:25 UTC

So true. Lol

2018-09-06 01:43:00 UTC

All I did was use the words "virtue signaling" and the comment wouldn't post lol

2018-09-06 02:10:10 UTC

That’s ridiculous. Just virtue signaling and that’s it?

2018-09-06 02:36:01 UTC

Yea, "Blatant virtue signaling is obvious"

2018-09-06 03:01:20 UTC

Geez. It’s ridiculous how things can get. Do they have a published comment policy? Some websites do.

2018-09-06 13:17:30 UTC

Yeah it's kinda like how superchat filters work on YT, they don't let you say anything they don't like

2018-09-06 13:26:07 UTC

Yeah. I’ve seen some sites that use disqus and have some draconian comment policies. You practically can only comment on the subject matter in the article.

2018-09-06 13:46:03 UTC

This site has some pretty draconian comment policies. The give the ‘charity’ of editing comments with why and what the censor.

2018-09-06 13:51:25 UTC

Haha looks like quite the popular shitposting spot /s

2018-09-06 13:51:50 UTC

Do people badmouth the cars? Lol

2018-09-06 14:00:34 UTC

I badmouth green cars

2018-09-06 14:17:24 UTC

Some do. There are tons of virtue signalers though. I’m not as concerned about the cars; I actually want to get an electric car because I think it’s cool. I’m mostly concerned with the ‘lets force people to buy green cars’ attitude.

I do read through several environmental news/websites and I’ve noticed some SJW like trends in environmentalism. These trends aren’t new, but I’m wondering if they’ll gain more power. What do y’all think?

2018-09-06 14:19:49 UTC

This article is just the tip of the iceberg.

2018-09-06 14:45:56 UTC

Aren't electric cars bad for the environment too?

2018-09-06 14:53:26 UTC

Well, not necessarily. From an emissions standpoint no. However,I don’t know what will happen at the end of the battery’s lifecycle. It is highly likely that they will be recycled, but that’s it’s hard to predict what will actually happen. I would argue that the relative impact of electric vehicles is less than gas, but it doesn’t justify forcing people to buy them. IMHO

2018-09-06 14:58:05 UTC

I would recycle them. I like metalcasting

2018-09-06 14:58:19 UTC

lead is really easy to work with

2018-09-06 14:59:07 UTC

I’ve never done metal casting. Sounds cool. Most modern electric vehicles use lithium ion batteries.

2018-09-06 15:09:53 UTC

I defer to the University of Minnesota's study. If the source of electricity comes from coal it is *significantly* more toxic than gas

2018-09-06 15:11:31 UTC

I don’t know about that. I’ll check out that study and see what they did.

2018-09-06 15:12:26 UTC

If the power supply comes from gas, the electric cars do half the damage as gas cars

2018-09-06 15:13:17 UTC

However, it is easier to control emissions at the plant level and nearly impossible to control emissions at the tailpipe level.

2018-09-06 15:13:27 UTC

Is it??

2018-09-06 15:14:11 UTC

It depends on the standard

2018-09-06 15:14:33 UTC

As much other problems as there are with the system, Commercial Diesel Exhaust is currently cleaner than what you exhale
