How about you?
I'd say if you're focused on fights you're gonna get a lot of the same stuff
I'm all over the place, but I've been really keen on stuff that has a few layers to it
Either in investigating it- Monster, 20th Century Boys, or in interpreting it- Ghost in the Shell, or in terms of tone and focus- Vinland Saga
Nice, is Vinland already done, or is it ongoing?
Ongoing
Which I normally try not to get into but it doesn't always work
Vinland will be several hundred chapters on completion I suspect
Oh nice
Something that appealed to me about Bleach was the variety of fighters.
The Scientist "fights" always had goofiness, of course. But other than those the number of characters left things constantly refreshing
Ever get into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? It's all fight variety
I've put that off for so long. for some reason I keep forgetting about it
8 went even further
>now you're fighting using stag beetles
>here's an ability we won't completely explain, you just get to know sort of how it works
Lol
as opposed to Bleach where it just drops an ability on you at any given time
deus ex machina lol
But yeah I don't often go for battle oriented stuff
Just because most of it tends to fall into the same traps
Well since you've reminded me of it, I'll upp its priority
And that sucks
I like Berserk for its variety in enemies. And the utter strangeness, though I'm not sure how much horror intends to be strange
Not since Boat
I actually forget where I left off. But I did so because I felt.... fulfilled? I have to want to advance the story in order to do it, I'm weird
That's fair yeah
I stopped reading Beserk when they started forming an RPG group.
they picked up a loli wizard or something.
Aww, you missed some good stuff then
So right around where I stopped then
Cuz BOAT is not long after that
And then there was a hiatus, so until 2015 you stopped at BOAT
But yeah the most Battle I've gone is Gurren Lagann, and I love all the parts people seem to hate
Gurren Lagann is part satire of the shonen genre, right? For some reason that's what I thought when watching it.
Yes
Ish
It's a different take on shonen and super robot
I liked that series. Didn't drag on.
Pretty funny, and poked fun at the shonen genre.
It has one superfluous episode, and it's a recap
But a lot of people *hate* the timeskip stuff, and the ending
But it's honestly the most important part of the show
