How about you?

2018-11-21 19:16:24 UTC

I'd say if you're focused on fights you're gonna get a lot of the same stuff

2018-11-21 19:16:41 UTC

I'm all over the place, but I've been really keen on stuff that has a few layers to it

2018-11-21 19:17:36 UTC

Either in investigating it- Monster, 20th Century Boys, or in interpreting it- Ghost in the Shell, or in terms of tone and focus- Vinland Saga

2018-11-21 19:18:34 UTC

Nice, is Vinland already done, or is it ongoing?

2018-11-21 19:18:40 UTC

Ongoing

2018-11-21 19:18:52 UTC

Which I normally try not to get into but it doesn't always work

2018-11-21 19:19:21 UTC

Vinland will be several hundred chapters on completion I suspect

2018-11-21 19:21:16 UTC

Oh nice
Something that appealed to me about Bleach was the variety of fighters.
The Scientist "fights" always had goofiness, of course. But other than those the number of characters left things constantly refreshing

2018-11-21 19:21:54 UTC

Ever get into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? It's all fight variety

2018-11-21 19:22:13 UTC

I've put that off for so long. for some reason I keep forgetting about it

2018-11-21 19:22:16 UTC

8 went even further
>now you're fighting using stag beetles

2018-11-21 19:22:59 UTC

>here's an ability we won't completely explain, you just get to know sort of how it works

2018-11-21 19:22:59 UTC

Lol

2018-11-21 19:23:28 UTC

as opposed to Bleach where it just drops an ability on you at any given time

2018-11-21 19:24:11 UTC

deus ex machina lol

2018-11-21 19:24:42 UTC

But yeah I don't often go for battle oriented stuff

2018-11-21 19:24:51 UTC

Just because most of it tends to fall into the same traps

2018-11-21 19:25:30 UTC

Well since you've reminded me of it, I'll upp its priority
And that sucks

2018-11-21 19:26:30 UTC

I like Berserk for its variety in enemies. And the utter strangeness, though I'm not sure how much horror intends to be strange

2018-11-21 19:26:48 UTC

I haven't gone back to Berserk in some time

2018-11-21 19:26:53 UTC

Not since Boat

2018-11-21 19:27:25 UTC

I actually forget where I left off. But I did so because I felt.... fulfilled? I have to want to advance the story in order to do it, I'm weird

2018-11-21 19:27:35 UTC

That's fair yeah

2018-11-21 19:27:54 UTC

I stopped reading Beserk when they started forming an RPG group.

2018-11-21 19:28:08 UTC

they picked up a loli wizard or something.

2018-11-21 19:28:13 UTC

Aww, you missed some good stuff then

2018-11-21 19:28:28 UTC

So right around where I stopped then

2018-11-21 19:28:40 UTC

Cuz BOAT is not long after that

2018-11-21 19:28:52 UTC

2018-11-21 19:28:57 UTC

And then there was a hiatus, so until 2015 you stopped at BOAT

2018-11-21 19:30:06 UTC

But yeah the most Battle I've gone is Gurren Lagann, and I love all the parts people seem to hate

2018-11-21 19:31:59 UTC

Gurren Lagann is part satire of the shonen genre, right? For some reason that's what I thought when watching it.

2018-11-21 19:32:05 UTC

Yes

2018-11-21 19:32:08 UTC

Ish

2018-11-21 19:32:32 UTC

It's a different take on shonen and super robot

2018-11-21 19:32:43 UTC

I liked that series. Didn't drag on.

2018-11-21 19:33:03 UTC

Pretty funny, and poked fun at the shonen genre.

2018-11-21 19:33:10 UTC

It has one superfluous episode, and it's a recap

2018-11-21 19:33:25 UTC

But a lot of people *hate* the timeskip stuff, and the ending

2018-11-21 19:33:33 UTC

But it's honestly the most important part of the show
