Won't the vibrations eventually tear the bond?

2018-05-20 10:50:48 UTC

that wont hold for long

?????????????????????

The first order of business is to reverse electrical polarity (or phase, if you prefer). That's easy enough if you have a polarity switch on your DAC or preamplifier. But if like many audio systems yours does not provide for polarity switching, you probably won't bother to do it by reversing electrical plugs or speaker connections.

2018-05-20 11:04:01 UTC

ok then

2018-05-20 11:08:12 UTC

kek thats so rarted

2018-05-20 11:20:57 UTC

polarity switch on your dac on preamp

2018-05-20 11:20:58 UTC

what

2018-05-20 11:20:59 UTC

i've never seen that

2018-05-20 11:21:11 UTC

i have

2018-05-20 11:21:18 UTC

its not particularly useful lol

2018-05-20 11:21:30 UTC

i guessi tsu seful if your dumb and cant plug it in right?

2018-05-20 11:22:14 UTC

Some digital recordings are made in antiphase, and it never says on the box. Most people (me!) can't detect this, but if you can, push the button.

2018-05-20 11:22:16 UTC

huh

2018-05-20 11:22:19 UTC

This subject drive's me nuts.

Quite a few pre amplifiers have the outputs inverted and to my knowledge the way to counteract this is to reverse the polarity on the speakers wtf:doh: I still don't know why this is.

2018-05-20 11:22:39 UTC

wtf

2018-05-20 11:51:24 UTC

I can detect polarity on earphones tbh

2018-05-20 11:51:37 UTC

Dunno bout speakers

2018-05-20 16:36:02 UTC

jc this budget setup

2018-05-20 16:36:26 UTC

```This is a pure tube phono stage from China that cost about $65. It comes in pieces. Two acrylic plates, the PCB, the power transformer, three driver tubes, a rectifier tube, and some other hardware. Assembly wasn't too bad, and I had to buy a longer power cable to route it behind my desk. I also replaced the cheap Chinese tubes with Voskhod 6N2P-EV tubes (NOS matched trio for $20) for the drivers and a Reflector 6C4P-EV (NOS for $10) for the rectifier.
```

2018-05-20 16:36:51 UTC

that little dot amp sucks btw

2018-05-20 16:38:15 UTC

shill me on vinyl

2018-05-20 16:38:46 UTC

is there any reason why this depreciated format is still used in $CURRENT_YEAR besides retro nostalgia?

2018-05-20 16:39:00 UTC

no

2018-05-20 16:39:38 UTC

@Deleted User hoardi- I mean collecting

2018-05-20 16:39:40 UTC

you should use cds instead.. see the magnetic data stored in hard drives can be corrupted with background radiation but cd's have that shiny surface that block radiation waves

2018-05-20 16:40:29 UTC

vinyl is better because ⓡⓞⓤⓝⓓ ⓢⓞⓤⓝⓓ

2018-05-20 16:40:45 UTC

360 degrees of sound versus 2 degrees

2018-05-20 16:47:19 UTC

Why would he use those amps when he's got a Schiit Stack.

2018-05-20 16:48:57 UTC

oh my god
