They also act like Turks did all the intellectual and cultural advancement seen in the Ottoman Empire during the Middle Ages when that was mostly Armenian Christians that had been taken from their families as the Jizya tax. And lefty teachers that want to prove that white Christians didn't create Western Civilization go along with it
I gave a presentation about the Ottoman Empire in high school where I talked about how messed up the Devshirme tax was and I don't think my lefty teacher that spent half of his classes trying to prove Islam was a religion of peace appreciated it
I always thought it was funny how people blather about how the middle east was a great center for learning in the middle ages, and yet all the scientific progress in the middle east suddenly dried up when the non Muslims were gone.
