I think this is a good example of where I disagree with most conservatives. This idea of absolute agency and everything bad that has happened to you or whatever spot you're in in life is your fault and always will be

and are you telling me you never got the opportunity to work another job even for less money if you really didnt want to work for the company you work for now? You accepting another job for less money because you dont like your current employer is like an employer not hiring a competent member of a protected class because they dont like them, but hiring a less competent member of a group they like. You both lose in that scenario but you can make a bad trade if you want to.

there is always someone surviving on less then you so you being really stuck is more a matter of convenience. And yes if you are not competent and have not generated a lot of surplus for the society you live in (which is what owners of capital have done to get that capital) you have less of a bargaining position. But that is just what happens when you give people the right control their own productivity. Some people have more to offer than others. You can only get rid of that by taking control of peoples productivity and forcing them to work and give the reward of their work (capital) to other people for a price you set. Putting a gun to someones head and saying you will give away the fruits of your labor for a certain price because your abilities give you to much of a bargaining position, so we take control of them is slavery.

Btw I have worked on production lines with very "poor" people and I can tell you they didnt end there by chance. Also they are wasting a LOT of money on stuff they dont need. So if some of the poorest people have enough money left to purchase a lot of junk who is really stuck on a job/couldnt work for a little less? If even the poorest people are have money left.

go to a homeless shelter and see how many are smoking cigarettes or spending every penny on booze. Some of them are addicted, others just can't delay self-gratification and blow all their money and question why they can't afford to buy a house/rent an appartment

Some people are just bad at managing money (meaning they would have to be taught and work hard at managing their money), other people just give in to temptations and decide to manage money poorly

people of lower incomes generally speaking are not as good at delaying gratification, which means they are not as good at managing money long term, but also that they arent as good at developing a rare skill set which would give them the opportunity to make more money, since developing a difficult skill involves spending a lot of time for a reward that is very far in the future

why are rich people born with this ability?

There is some learning from your environment involved, but mostly these things are inherited to a certain extend which is why rich people are more likely to stay rich and poor peple are more likly to stay poor, that being said there are a lot of poor people rising in income between generations and a lot of rich people blowing their money.

its just not completely random. Also smart rich parents can make sure their irresponsible offspring cant spent all their inheritance on trash.

iq is 50-80% genetic and higher IQ people are generally better at delaying gratification, maybe because they are better at conceptualizing the eventual reward.

there is chance and hard work involved, but mostly yes. People with ability and intellegence can rise to the top, and those things are genetic. Thats not birthright though. Birthright in a monarchy or aristocratic society means you will be at a certain level of society because you are a child of your parents no matter your ability or work ethic.

Also you can always work harder that someone slightly smarter than you, and get further than them. Most people just dont do that, so when looking at nation wide statistics on income level and iq those data points dont show up. You are not as restricted by IQ as I might make it sound, but the average person works as hard as the next average person and in that case the smarter average person has the upper hand.

Are they stagnating now? Seems to me like you are able to buy cooler and cooler stuff for the same amount of money as time goes on, so living standards can rise even if wages dont. But how would we know wages are closely tied to the economy and the economy is so fragile and can be influenced by a thousand things. Sorry im not too optimistic about the economy, my father sent me an article about 10 year government bonds being at a lower value than 2 year government bonds this week and now Im depressed. Happens every year for me but the economy seems to go on.
