Oh, and VBScript Excel, ...and SQL (with the stored procs and complex joins and subqueries and shit), ...and BASH

2017-12-06 02:53:14 UTC

Hold that thought. After a few urgent things are done, I'm setting up our own git server and I'm going to set up Right Wing Tech Squads.

2017-12-06 02:54:26 UTC

That's my lifegoal, to get our systems and delegation tight enough that I can completely retreat from managerial work into fascist geekery.

2017-12-06 02:55:21 UTC

I haven't fucked with Arduino. Way back before you guys were born, I fucked around with 8051 microcontroller assembly, ...for no coherent reason.

2017-12-06 02:56:49 UTC

Microcontroller programming was only cool because I got to actually wrap my mind around how the 0s and 1s become code that does stuff. Modern coders are so far removed from that, it may as well be magic. Nothing wrong with not bothering with that, but it is kind of cool.

2017-12-06 03:00:20 UTC

Damn. I didn't realize there were fellow tech autists around. I'm extremely interested in electronics and programming. I enjoy Arduino and single board computers because they allow me to make real-world devices and solve problems.

2017-12-06 03:00:38 UTC

Programming has always been a bit abstract to me.

2017-12-06 03:01:05 UTC

I've got like 20 Raspberrys, a few of which are dedicated to our party infrastructure.

2017-12-06 03:01:32 UTC

AtMega chipsets are simple enough for a monkey to code

2017-12-06 03:01:39 UTC

You're speaking my language

2017-12-06 03:01:45 UTC

Raspberry Pi master race

2017-12-06 03:02:02 UTC

To my knowledge, we're the only political organization which stores all of its sensitive without any third party hosting services whatsoever.

2017-12-06 03:02:40 UTC

They're going to be dropping the RPi 4 next year. It's supposed to have a new 1.8 GHz processor and 2 GB of ram for the same price point.

2017-12-06 03:02:56 UTC

Are the ones you use RPi 3's?

2017-12-06 03:03:10 UTC

Half 2's, half 3's.

2017-12-06 03:03:18 UTC

@Flaxxer I have a Pi 3

2017-12-06 03:03:36 UTC

Cloud computing and storage can be done dirt cheap if you can get enough Zero's or Zero W's together

2017-12-06 03:03:59 UTC

MicroCenter sells them for $1 every once in a while

2017-12-06 03:04:09 UTC

Sadly I havent been able to do much (because of the intense amount of other things I have been pre-occupied with).

2017-12-06 03:04:20 UTC

Like taking care of my Aunt's kid.

2017-12-06 03:04:33 UTC

Keeping the house maintenanced, etc.

2017-12-06 03:04:34 UTC

I had a project I was trying with my Pi 2, but never got it off the ground

2017-12-06 03:04:45 UTC

In a crisis situation, I can fit the party's encryption keys and critical info into my ass with only minor discomfort.

2017-12-06 03:04:46 UTC

Raspberry Pi is the easiest way to get into programming, Linux, and IOT

2017-12-06 03:04:55 UTC

@Hadrian Yea. I wanted to learn hacking w/ Kali Linux.

2017-12-06 03:05:01 UTC

On my Pi 3

2017-12-06 03:05:06 UTC

I was trying to make it an OBM card for my PC, which I used to RDP into from work and had an issue where it needed to be rebooted periodically

2017-12-06 03:05:19 UTC

Damn.

2017-12-06 03:05:30 UTC

I haven't screwed much with robotics or home automation. I ought to. For me, they're just handy for compartmentalizing components.

2017-12-06 03:06:02 UTC

but now I work from home and I fixed the rebooting issue anyway

2017-12-06 03:06:04 UTC

I know I am also learning Python.

2017-12-06 03:06:11 UTC

@Sir88 Arch and QubeOS are Linux master race

2017-12-06 03:06:20 UTC

I like WattOS for solar projects though

2017-12-06 03:06:20 UTC

I should learn python. I've avoided ruby and python forever.

2017-12-06 03:06:28 UTC

@Flaxxer Yea. I might get an image for Arch.

2017-12-06 03:07:11 UTC

I have an Alexa that manages much of my home automation

2017-12-06 03:07:13 UTC

Raspbian is handy for guys who actually want packages.

2017-12-06 03:07:16 UTC

Python is the best language for physical devices.

2017-12-06 03:07:19 UTC

Robots and such

2017-12-06 03:07:26 UTC

I also am considering building "Reconnaissance Spider Drones" for my workplace.

2017-12-06 03:07:30 UTC

@Fevs Doesn't change how bad they are, just the manifestation
