theoretically, yes

2019-11-27 08:02:20 UTC

but there are a plethora of reasons to choose a different caliber if barrel length is such a sticking point

2019-11-27 08:03:08 UTC

hell 300 Blackout fits within standard AR15 parts completely. All you need to swap is the barrel

2019-11-27 08:09:03 UTC

I have a 10.5" and it's a blast to shoot.

2019-11-27 08:09:25 UTC

I have no doubt

2019-11-27 08:09:31 UTC

And I don't have to worry about finding a new source of ammo.

2019-11-27 08:10:09 UTC

Mk18s are incredibly fun, and that's a 10.3 barrel

2019-11-27 08:20:31 UTC

One other reason for a shorter barrel is if you want less weight overall. It is true you can also get a light barrel, but those can get expensive fast.

I still have my Constitution.

If I was being caused by people like that I would be within my rights to self defense.

2019-11-27 09:03:36 UTC

And then no one would ever try it again.

Yo if you show up to the big Igloo with that 7.5 upper you can't be on my team

2019-11-27 12:34:41 UTC

I went with 300BLK strictly because I wanted a short barrel. I also got to be at an indoor range at the same time as a guy who had a 5.56 AR pistol and *goddam* those things are loud.

2019-11-27 12:36:45 UTC

Anything under 10.3 is a toy and a waste of money

2019-11-27 12:36:56 UTC

You should be buying useful things right now

2019-11-27 12:37:31 UTC

Damn, I'm 0.3" too short

2019-11-27 12:39:32 UTC

You're 100% going to die

Imagine not being able to loot nuclear codes and all kinds of space age secret tech from work for when it all goes down.

Hope you're all ready for the Flananreich.

2019-11-27 12:46:18 UTC

Imagine thinking working the IT desk at the FAA department of LGBT inclusion is going to win the big Igloo for us

2019-11-27 12:48:08 UTC

Sounds like an awful lot of cope...

2019-11-27 12:49:35 UTC

Woops...

2019-11-27 12:59:56 UTC

@FitnessByHeatherHeyer WELL AK-SHU-ALLY when it comes to 300blk the powder is done burning by the time the bullet gets to about 8-9 inches down the barrel anything longer than a 12in barrel and you are drastically reducing velocity. Most people that use the cartridge agree that 9-10.5 inch barrels are the most efficient.

@Ragglefraggle07 but who was stabilization?

2019-11-27 13:04:02 UTC

Stabilization of the round is more dependent on twist rate, bullet weight, and velocity once barrel length is established. Obviously if you're using a 3in barrel your chances of stabilizing are slim to none but I believe people are reporting good stability in barrels as short as 7in.

2019-11-27 13:05:24 UTC

Baby I'm ignorant on Blackout, regardless of twist rate 62 caliber bullet / 125 grains should need longer than 9 in

2019-11-27 13:14:53 UTC

I'm just stating what the designer of the cartridge intended and found worked best. It was designed for the honey badger and that has a 6in barrel

I always knew you were a nigger.

2019-11-27 13:18:48 UTC

@Legalize are we allowed to post hot stuff in here?

2019-11-27 13:19:03 UTC

Wrong. It's a double IPA. Double nigger.

2019-11-27 13:19:33 UTC

Nigggger if you will

2019-11-27 13:19:34 UTC

I stand corrected. You are in fact a double nigger.

2019-11-27 13:21:36 UTC

I don't think you're *losing* velocity past 12 inches of 300BLK. The round was designed for 9 inches but you can buy barrels out to 16+ inches and you'll still get velocity gains, just severely diminishing returns

2019-11-27 13:21:52 UTC

@Unironic Ohio Supremecist hot as in spicy or hot as in NSFW?
