the M16 was adopted 3 years before widespread conflict

The idea that acknowledging that the AK is shit means you have an irrational obsession with the AR is not a serious claim.
Because of our chatting I've been watching and reading more about guns and was surprised how many serious soldiers loved the AK when they looked into it.

Well I'd argue the numerous special forces guys I've read and watched say the AK is comparable or the preferred weapon for them.
