Hey sexy
k
I need to know something. Is there a device, Chink or otherwise that will take an analog 5.1 output and let me input it into a Digital input; coax or TOSlink
oof
no idea
sorry
Been looking, google won't help. But of course I dunno what it would be called
Ask /g/?
I haven't yet
I'd say that's your best bet
I see the reverse, Coax/TOSlink to Analog 5.1
I can't ask /g/
search for high channel count adcs
itll only really be studio gear
and it probably wont have a coax or toslink out
AES or firewire really
Lame. It seems my only option is to track down an older receiver and use it as an intermediary.
from the inputs at least
might do digital passthrough but idk about htat even
So I can't use this piece of equipment at all unless I go all old equipment, run it into an old reciever and connect speakers there
what are you actually trying to do
Getting AC-3 out of my old LDs. The box in question is an AC-3RF Demodulator (Yamaha DDP-1) , but it's built to work in tandem with a specific receiver. I have everything going through my main ATMOS receiver, but this box can not be hooked up as is because my receiver has no Analog inputs aside from Stereo.
tbh just get a new receiver
This is a new receiver tbh. It's a 7.2.2
get one that isnt all digital
itll be cheaper that the solution you want
Possibly.
Or just get a different AC-3RF demodulator that does output digital.
I have a cheaper option, build 5 small amps, making my speakers into powered speakers, and connect them directly into the 5.1 multi-channel output of the DDP-1
i wonder, since china's got way more lax regulations on this sort of stuff than the west
is any chinese company manufacturing type 4 tape?
i can only get my hands on type 1 and sometimes 2 from western brands, new old stock type 4 has gotten "may as well go reel to reel" expensive
bc honestly fuck vinyl, a good type 4 tape (honestly even a type 2 with dolby nr) outperforms it also tapes are mechanically and conceptually cooler
Yeah good question
probably not, Metal tapes would cost a lot to produce, even for china. Even the type I tapes are low quality, even by Type I standards
figures
type 1 is fine for dungeon synth and black metal at least, and really that's almost all of what i have any interest in buying on cassettes anyway
