I haven't seen the text, but I think the rule says something like 'you have to declare yourself as a democrat x amount of time before you are able to run for office as a democrat.'

I want Bernie to run because it would almost guarantee a Trump 2020 win and then we might actually get the wall... maybe.
unfortunately, unless there is wall started, I don't know that Trump will be as popular in 2020
Agreed, I think that is why right wing turnout in the midterms is so vital. If the right can secure congress, the wall will happen. Styx is right when he says the RNC has become the party of Trump. Old school corporate repubs hold no power in the party any longer. I am hopeful.
An independent Bernie might take enough votes away from the Dems that Trump will win by default though.
