Yes, that's where I am from
As a common joke has it, if you don't start breaking in Trier (Germany) when you approach Luxembourg you will already be in France.
I have family in Trier
I wonder if they’ve ever been across the border
I think they’ve been to France so I’m sure they’ve driven through
Lol
In other words I leave quiet a bit, usually to use neighbouring countries highways to quicker get to other parts of Luxembourg.
Highly likely, depending on where the went in France.
Ok. I’m trying to understand. I think Europeans drive less than Americans
Why is the GDP per capita so high in Luxembourg? It’s insanely high
Like 2.5x Germany’s
Definitely, a three hour drive for us involves lots of planning for us, for an American it's just an afternoon checking in on family.
Shapiro did a good show on ballot harvesting
Yeah my parents live 7 hours away. We usually plan a bit to go there but we just made that drive for thanksgiving
And they only live 1 state away
@Euro looking for a green card really? A lot of planning? That’s interesting. I can’t imagine. I just get in my car and go.
Our GDP is so high because of having been very lucky in having jumped on the right train at the right time and having had really good Prime Ministers with lots of foresight.
Money comes mainly from the steel industry and more recently banking.
Oh ok. That’s kind of what I was going for. Looks like Liechtenstein is even higher
@Salacious Swanky Cat Slightly exaggerating, but yes 3 hour drives are actually an event for us.
Afaik we have the highest GDP in Europe usually trading places with Switzerland every so often.
I’m looking at per capita
@Euro looking for a green card it doesn’t surprise me because driving is so expensive there.
Gas is crazy expensive in Europe
1.82 gets you a gallon here
It's actually been alright for a few years. Comparatively speaking.
How much is gas there?
But we will soon get raped on Diesel, it seems.
I think it's around 1.1€/l
Lux is about the cheapest in Europe when it comes to gas though.
Is luxembourg part of the EU?
Lux was one of the founders
That’s like 4.15 euros/gallon
1.1€ would get you over 2.5 liters here
So it’s more than twice as expensive
That’s really expensive dude
At least where I live
And as I said Lux is very cheap when it comes to gas
That’s a big yikes from me dawg
