Thus reducing the necessity of viewing

2019-03-07 19:29:12 UTC

I wonder if you've seen the more recent stuff

2019-03-07 19:29:35 UTC

Last ones I saw were Thor Ragnarok and Guardians 2

2019-03-07 19:29:47 UTC

They were okay

2019-03-07 19:31:29 UTC

Guardians feels like it's already being constricted by the film format. Thor 3 is like, bits of planet hulk and guardians smushed in when I'd really much rather just get Planet Hulk (seriously, there's been no new attempt at Hulk standalone content)

2019-03-07 19:31:59 UTC

Hulk is in a weird situation rights wise

2019-03-07 19:32:21 UTC

Marvel own the licence but universal own distribution

2019-03-07 19:32:26 UTC

on solo stuff

2019-03-07 19:32:44 UTC

so they split a Hulk story between multiple movies

2019-03-07 19:33:04 UTC

Age of Ultron, Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame

2019-03-07 19:33:21 UTC

Yeah, Hulk is currently on a little arc throughout all the recent movies

2019-03-07 19:33:33 UTC

honestly Planet Hulk wouldn't really work well within the MCU

2019-03-07 19:33:40 UTC

it'd essentially be an entirely CGI movie

2019-03-07 19:34:04 UTC

Isn't that what half of them are slowly turning into?

2019-03-07 19:34:14 UTC

and then how do you handle World War Hulk?

2019-03-07 19:35:00 UTC

You don't, just like how "Civil War" went nowhere and did nothing

2019-03-07 19:35:13 UTC

I'm wondering how the franchise will feel after Endgame. It's going to be a reboot of sorts.

2019-03-07 19:35:15 UTC

did nothing?

2019-03-07 19:35:23 UTC

it broke up the Avengers they're still broken up

2019-03-07 19:35:45 UTC

They're referencing a larger conflict that would be its own film series

2019-03-07 19:35:48 UTC

Cap and Tony haven't spoken since

2019-03-07 19:35:51 UTC

Yeah it impacted things on a cosmic scale haha

2019-03-07 19:35:57 UTC

For a handful of people having a spat

2019-03-07 19:36:18 UTC

honestly compared to the comic event, the movie one was better

2019-03-07 19:36:29 UTC

They're clearly not opposed to scaling down and rewriting

2019-03-07 19:36:43 UTC

the movies didn't have to deus ex machina out a bunch of decisions made for that event weeks later

2019-03-07 19:37:05 UTC

They'll have to asspull for the next Avengers though

2019-03-07 19:38:01 UTC

When you have a franchise that is on rails by design, there's not too much flexibility

2019-03-07 19:38:33 UTC

also when you're missing a good chunk of the Marvel characters too

2019-03-07 19:38:51 UTC

they don't even have Nitro who was the catalyst for the entire comic event

2019-03-07 19:39:14 UTC

It's a pointless choice to make because you know they'll have everyone, or nearly everyone come back

2019-03-07 19:39:30 UTC

Marvel ain't losing that Spiderman or Chris Hemsworth Cheesecake money

2019-03-07 19:39:44 UTC

the question isn't always do they win, but how they win

2019-03-07 19:39:49 UTC

and at what cost

2019-03-07 19:40:02 UTC

the stakes have always been about Cap and Tony

2019-03-07 19:40:21 UTC

The cost will be nothing that will harm future movie options. How they win will be an asspull

2019-03-07 19:40:43 UTC

Can you really imagine having all of the heroes from the MCU and X-men series in one movie? It would turn into a plot that would necessitate having the highest paid actors be in the spotlight, and everyone else would be so stretched thin

2019-03-07 19:40:57 UTC

Would not be worth it at all

2019-03-07 19:41:05 UTC

You wouldn't make it one movie

2019-03-07 19:41:09 UTC

it was damn impressive how they pulled off Civil War and Infinity War

2019-03-07 19:41:20 UTC

the Russos are damn good at what they do
