he makes them money so they give him enough freedom to continue to do so
most of the MCU is determined by Kevin Fiege with some creative freedom given to the individual movie directors to work within his world
Yeah I don't think anyone is under the illusion Disney/Marvel do these movies for the creative storytelling
They're just comic movies
That will sell heaps
What they want, ultimately, is a steady character rollout so they can keep making money at an increasing rate. I bet you anything that if the "foundation" characters for a given arc were unsuccessful/unpopular, that they would just write them out
They do a lot of unprecedented things in cinema, which I think is pretty cool
I've heard rumors that they have two version of end game. one where captain marvel is important and where she's less important. They'll decide which one to use based on how captain marvel does. I don't really believe this rumor, because the release date seem to close to me to be able to make that decision.
Unless they've already spent the money, they'll just drop things that don't do well if they don't think they can flip you on it
at most Carol will get an assist in the end fight, setting up for either Thor or Nebula to get the kill
Ah, so Thor is getting that headshot you think?
he deserves it, but so does Nebula and in the comic story....
So true
the MCU is pretty good at interpreting the comic events keeping certain key points
I think the characters they want new actors for get the kill, they somehow sacrifice them selves to beat thanos
I am actually genuinely disappointed that they gave Thanos a more cliche reason to villain it up
it's something that's really impressed me with the MCU, the ability to sort of cut out the bloat that happens in comics
have you seen Infinity War?
I'm not seeing the cliche
Nope, I just get to hear about everything that happens
Thanos is the ultimate centrist
#purplewave
"I'll destroy half of you because you're using too many resources" is super played out at this point
Thanos was just implementing part of the green new deal
I think AOC might be more effective than half
"I have a huge boner for Death" is at least different
again where's the cliche?
The "benevolent" genocide?
there's no resolution for the Death boner story he still hasn't hit that
You have to be killed for your own good is the motivation for like 40% of villains
It's super common
You have to be killed because you will destroy everything especially
his is half of all to be randomly killed, no bias
it's not targeted at any one person in particular and unlike every other villain
he does it
Literally doesn't matter, because that's only the method, not the motive
we know its going to be reversed though
The motive is boring, and yes it will be reversed
but at a cost
we're losing some big names for sure
