we've been preparing for this since 1996
tell me about it my hometown has waited 20 years for a new range bypass to be built
in 96, they created a WHOLE NEW government dept to plan for this
so we've been paying for them this whole time.
it wasnt until 2008 that they finally voted to do the rail
no government department wanted to pay for the thing because it's not a capital city
crazy
they did start building it though....a month after I left
can't help but feel it was personal 😄
and as of last month all construction that has not already been started, has been postponed.

they didn't start building new stuff in the city until I moved, the largest shopping centre got a massive expansion, they redid a lot of the main street
wouldn't surprise if they finally connect the city to the state passenger rail system too
