^I agreeee with that.
Yeah I also found the sequel disappointing
what a waste of kurt Russell
Yeah, the bad guy is a radical leftist and Black Panther is African Trump (he does sort of "learn" to be less nationalistic though)
I thought the good guy was Trump and the bad guy was Black hitler
Haven't seen it though, but wasn't the bad guy expansionist and the good guy isolationist (until the end)
but even then I think they didn't become open borders
They revealed themselves to the world, and I think the plan was to export services, maybe resources. Not much else
Yeah, the bad guy is a pan african ethnonationalist and the good guy is an isolationist (until the end)
They give the US foreign aid
Cause they have to go to the US from Africa to find oppressed black people
Maybe they just consider the people living in abject poverty in Africa to be their natural state?
So at the end of the movie they're still ethno-nationalists, they're just letting people know they exist, and letting people buy their services (mercantilism too).
oh and they still have an absolute monarchy
I mean Wakanda is made of of several tribes, so you could argue they are Civic Nationalists, although the "civic" is never articulated and they don't like outsiders, especially the white guy
I like how there's a snowy north Wakanda with a black Rob Stark lol
The multiple tribe thing kind of makes no sense since the grievance about colonization is that it made countries made up of completely different groups
oh so they let Asians and Hispanics into wakanda no problem?
There was only one token minority in the movie
I must have missed that^
No there's the one white guy that's knocked out most of the movie
Wakanda I mean, not the movie itself
The citizens are
He's a dirty Xeno
Doh
My bad
So Wakanda is definitely part of the UN
Sad!
And their embassy in the US is being put in the one building in the hood lol
#GoSeeAlita (no, really, there's an anti-gun control line).
But I read the manga already my dude
He looks like a preppy frat boy about to get shwasted during spring break
Now there’s a word I haven’t heard in a few years
Sure it is. Adaptations are inferior products
If I want more Alita there's still 2 more series to read
They aren't always inferior. Alita was really good. If anything watch it for the cgi
