2018-09-05 13:38:40 UTC

best dac for x headphone = "at least 16 bit and 44.1khz"

2018-09-05 13:38:44 UTC

but when i switch to listening out of my fiio x3ii the harshness goes away and it is a much smoother listen

2018-09-05 13:38:58 UTC

T2s sound harsh if you're listening to something a bit hot I've noticed @bentech

2018-09-05 13:39:00 UTC

or if you're rich "the dac and amp that look coolest"

2018-09-05 13:39:51 UTC

```Søren Kristensen. In case you are not familiar with this class of DACs, instead of using an off-the-shelf dac chip, this unit uses a custom implemented DAC using a series of resistors and a custom FPGA (digital logic) controlling them. Technical term for their approach is "Sign Magnitude Discrete R-2R." The dac1421 is unbalanced only and has a retail price of around $1,000 (sold in Euros however).
