Narratively New Vegas is a sequel to Fallout 2. Gameplay wise it's crippled by Fallout 3's engine and mechanics

It's also made by a company a chunk of the FO2 devteam fled to iirc

New Vegas is the sequel to Debbie Does Dallas, nothing else. Fuck #Fakeout and Fuck Bethesda.
Even that Shitshow Fallout Online is more worthy as a successor, which it isn't.
