pretend we dont have more written records regarding the period than we do for all of the assyrian empire
its a mystery
if only you could read beyond a headline. That would be a nifty skill to have :^)
yeah, alcohol prohibition was just a headline
it really meant you could still have and drink all the booze you want
>he didnt read the legislation
>he didnt read the gallup polling
millions of dollars spent going after booze, thousands of photos of government agents dumping booze into sewers
worse gang crime in history based solely on the illegal distribution of booze
because people were allowed to drink all they wanted
>moving the goalposts
imagine being that fucking retarded you thought someone would believe your lies
its your fucking words dude
and actually, as mandatory pointed out, drinking it in and of itself wasnt prohibited. Ownership was restricted but not eliminated
it's not
as I pointed out, it wasn't legally possible to ban drinking of it without being struck down
but production was bannable
as was distribution
and buying it
and selling it
and possession
since perscription and religious use alcohol was okayed
ethanol fuel was outlawed under prohibition
ford stopped making ethanol buring cars
products that used alcohol were able to be sold and owned but not produced as per the document mandatory linked
because no one could get fuel
there were some consumer products that had alcohol in small quantities that were allowed to be sold, but future iterations had to drop alcohol as an ingredient
I cant imagine how dumb you have to be try to convince someone that people were allowed to drink under prohibition
as though they dont know the purpose was to stop people from drinking
as though the millions of people drinking booze in illegal establishments had nothing to do with the ban on drinking
officers all over the country combing the hills for illegal stills
https://vinepair.com/articles/how-the-church-saved-the-wine-industry-during-prohibition/
there were also medicinal uses
bootleggers pushing the development of cars because cops are chasing down illegal loads of booze in high speed pursuits
yeah, look at this article that shows that people were actually allowed to drink a thimble of wine during prohibition
>nobody ever abuses loopholes
:^)
it basically allowed people to own and drink all they wanted if you dont think about it
people abused loopholes in a law, so the meaning of the law changes
hey real quick, show me some articles about how people are really allowed to shoot meth anytime anywhere because there are periphery cases where it happens
>the meaning of the law changes
??
there are laws against murder, but here is a case where a murderer didn't go to jail, so those murder laws really meant that murder was legal
there was a constitutional ammendment against alcohol, but here are some periphery cases where people got around it, so that constitutional ammendment that made alcohol illegal really made it legal
