The lifestyle of having everything accessible all at once is lost on me
Convenience vs mindfulness tradeoffs
It's just really hard to make this kind of shift and not be a dirt bag hipster about it
You probably appreciate the convenience of good internet though eh?
Which if that's what I'm doing fuck it I'll just have to embrace it
How about cell coverage?
It's possible satellite internet could work
What's your commute time and how does it compare to where you might move to?
I have a remote job
Satellite is dogshit
There are tons of small towns with just fine internet.
Ideally something like 60mbps would be my minimum requirement
But not all do
It's a consideration
Then we gotta scratch those off the list
Exactly
Need to be able to support myself and save this guala for later
What about the time it takes to get groceries and the like? How much time now vs there?
I have a chest freezer for meat I'm used to buying beef in bulk
Most veggies you can kiiinda keep in the fridge for a week with the right prep
I have all the prerequisite skills for homeownership but I'd rather not sign up for the debt until I decide I'm really gonna hunker down somewhere
But if it's not an option to rent for a bit then I'll just buy
It's all renting either way
Either from some jerkoff or the bank
Cool than that would be ideal for the short term
So I've done some road trips thru south Carolina and had the sudden urge to just stop in a few towns and just not leave. Loved the sleepy vibes of the trees. Wish I remembered what towns they were but I could probably find them again by visual memory if I take the same route to Charleston.
I like Carolina but be careful of the weather.
One thing I dislike living outside my home in the hills is the South can have terrible swamp weather.
Eh it's not terribly different from Georgia just a bit more humid
I'll generally take too hot for too cold
Humidity is the main concern tho 🤔
There are parts of the Carolinas that are just fine.
I guess the trick is to just stay higher elevation?
I love the north Georgia mountains area so I guess I should probably rule that area out first before other considerations right?
Lots of people complain about humidity but I've never had issues with it. Granted I live in a temperate rainforest
It's the flat that gets me
Just since it's close and I can do more accurate canvassing?
Yeah flat would be hard I think I might have a phobia of flat tbh
If it's flat but it's bc I'm in a valley and there's mountains in the view that's fine
Thus far my favorite climates have been desert, mountain, and wooded. But I've never lived in desert just traveled thru a lot
My job takes me out to the left coast 4x a year and I road trip the area every time right after
