That one in two people in the UK end up with the same exact wealth as their parents?
Is that what the 0,5 stands for?
Probably the likelihood of remaining in the same social class aroundabout as the parent.
Probably it means knowing the parent's wealth halves the variance of the child's wealth.
That is to say, it's a measure of how informative knowing the parent's wealth is for guessing the child's wealth.
Fair enough
But even a cursory read of that Wikipedia article admits that there has been growth in social mobility as time has gone by
I used to know the exact formula but I'm drawing a blank.
So... What's the end goal in pushing social mobility? Have it be done by force instead of by choice?
I asked this question weeks ago, but have you let your mask slip?
If climate change isn't real, how do you explain astrology?
BTFO Drumpf supporters
I want people to work to get the wealth they end up with. I don't want someone to be born poor and stay poor, I don't want someone to be born rich and stay rich
Do you have a chart that compares wealth with labor?
>I don't want someone to be born rich and stay rich
I can see why you wouldn't want someone born poor to stay that way
Maybe growing up around money makes people more motivated. I don't know but the chart you showed doesn't say anything about how much people work.
Ladies and gentlemen
but the other way around seems kind of... evil?
I present to you
May God have mercy on your soul
Because people certainly won't

Cannot deny
Especially with a side of Creedence yeah @Louis Carlos Fer
All I'm saying is, if rich people are human then how come I've never seen any staring at their reflection in a church while holding garlic and crucifixes?
Because of the crusades obviously. Checkmate tradcons.
fuck idk why google couldn't find this for me
that took forever
This is a lot of pages but maybe I'll work up the will to read it eventually.
the fucking chart isn't here either but the picture of it lists THIS title as it's origin
just read the abstract
Wait...
So you're telling me
That five in ten low income children end up being low income adults
In the US
Meanwhile, five in ten low income children become high income adults
