I think they should get the choice between receiving money from the government because they're charity cases who can't support themselves or working and voting like adults.

but its been in the field continuously for decades

But also we don't vote for wars. We vote for politicians who decide to go to war whenever they feel like it.

I think the lack of consequences is what makes that keep happening
