I'm using Fidelio X2 for that kind of music as well. These are the original Woox ones from 2014. I also replaced the pads with HM5 ones.

already have the ath-m40x while I do like their sound the isolation isn't that great and comfortable

cheaper open back stuff will almost always have meh bass extension for a variety of reasons
