The Suprun issue could have been killed immediately by the Texas GOP. They have the right to replace him, especially since he has declared he intends to violate his pledge.
But do they need to replace him? It's not going to change anything
If the EC deadlocks, or no one get 270, it goes to the House and Senate. Theoretically, they could vote in Pence as VP in the House and someone else for pres. They could even vote Pence for Pres. in the senate, ignoring Trump altogether. And it is all Constitutional.
He's just going to look like an asshole and ruin any career he had left
