@daustin8888 It's bullshit. I have traveled to Russia and told locals about this and they compare it (as I do) to "decommunisation" ie removal of communist statues etc.
Russians believe that all parts of history should be remembered, regardless of whether it's a nice chapter or not.
Communism is a part of Russia's history, as horrible as it was. The Confederacy is a part of our history, as horrible as it was.
History is being rewritten before our eyes
@daustin8888 It's much like what happened in communist governments. The old pre-revolutionary history was swept away and down the memory hole so that children would not be raised with counterrevolutionary thoughts. It's just another subtle form of poltiical indoctrination.
