That's true I got in trouble at work for calling out a customer on some BS about comey

2018-04-28 04:22:23 UTC

Yeah you gotta learn to pick those battles lol

2018-04-28 04:22:47 UTC

Like I explained the gun debate to my grandfather but didn't bother trying to correct my aunt

2018-04-28 04:22:48 UTC

Yeah especially since I'm in a more left leaning part of arizona

2018-04-28 04:23:27 UTC

Despite both of them using the same media-fed arguments

2018-04-28 04:23:54 UTC

That's kinda tricky isn't it

2018-04-28 04:26:40 UTC

Some people just ain't willing to hear it

2018-04-28 04:26:59 UTC

And it's not like my grandfather flipped on it either, but at least he's making better arguments

2018-04-28 04:27:26 UTC

I dont require agreement, just facts

2018-04-28 04:27:28 UTC

One of my older brothers is that way with social programs

2018-04-28 04:28:00 UTC

I think there's a basis for some of them, tbh, it's just a question of whether you figure people can come about creating them organically

2018-04-28 04:28:14 UTC

Mental health and childcare being two major ones

2018-04-28 04:28:22 UTC

And two that the government frequently fucks up as well

2018-04-28 04:29:59 UTC

My biggest issue is Food Stamps

2018-04-28 04:30:43 UTC

My biggest issue is government monopolies beyond the absolute necessities

2018-04-28 04:32:33 UTC

I get that I just think they need to be limited and regulated a bit more

2018-04-28 04:32:36 UTC

Our provincial Auto Insurance company was found scamming people. Our transit company has gone bankrupt and is now trying to sell shitty merchandise. Our hospitals are stuffed full of people and the funding for medicare is going to run out if they don't fix shit (and they likely won't)

2018-04-28 04:34:33 UTC

No ignore the problem and maybe it'll go away that's there strategy

2018-04-28 04:34:52 UTC

The funny thing is the problem *is* about something going away

2018-04-28 04:35:09 UTC

Boomer pop is going to ream our social programs as they leave the workforce

2018-04-28 04:35:19 UTC

Which is probably why they've been pushing immigration

2018-04-28 04:36:02 UTC

Jokes on then though because we get a metric fuckton of foreign buyers who make it too expensive to live here, and they don't live and work here themselves

2018-04-28 04:38:59 UTC

The influx of migrants is what is being to do our welfare system in

2018-04-28 04:40:08 UTC

Ours is the other way, not enough coming in to balance the books

2018-04-28 04:40:41 UTC

And not enough babies being birthed

2018-04-28 04:41:15 UTC

That whole having a family is a patriarchal construct shit?

2018-04-28 04:42:06 UTC

Oh there's definitely a lot of commies here yeah

2018-04-28 04:42:24 UTC

But I think there's more career women who never made the time/didn't want kids

2018-04-28 04:42:49 UTC

Or people who have decided it's too financially/environmentally/whatever-irresponsible to reproduce

2018-04-28 04:43:02 UTC

And there's a lot of that shitting on motherhood nonsense

2018-04-28 04:44:09 UTC

I'm in the same over population school of thought

2018-04-28 04:44:12 UTC

I dunno how bad matt's experience on dating sites was, but there's a lot of casual dating/tinder tier hookup people and polyamorous couples and shit

2018-04-28 04:44:32 UTC

We're not overpopulated in Canada by any stretch

2018-04-28 04:44:44 UTC

There is actually a lot of that in the military

2018-04-28 04:44:55 UTC

And I'd say the same is true of the states tbh

2018-04-28 04:45:34 UTC

The US wastes a lot of resources because they're not worth the cost of exporting and there's nobody to use them within the country

2018-04-28 04:46:20 UTC

Oh I know that's the way it is for the states but I'm still all for a plague to thin things out

2018-04-28 04:46:46 UTC

That's probably the misanthropy talking, rather than pragmatism 👌

2018-04-28 04:47:02 UTC

Sorry

2018-04-28 04:47:51 UTC

I'm mostly taking the piss really

2018-04-28 04:48:19 UTC

But yeah there's still plenty of Innawoods space in Leafland
