Blonde and roaming need to host a show without matt

2018-05-21 02:15:05 UTC

That's not full reciprocation

2018-05-21 02:15:16 UTC

They have talked about that @Grave

2018-05-21 02:15:18 UTC

Blonde would need to host an episode with Styx or something

2018-05-21 02:15:22 UTC

Who is going to run the show?

2018-05-21 02:35:31 UTC

@Saint there's another one in that chat

2018-05-21 03:36:53 UTC

I would host blonde. I'd just need to get Matt's login so I could post to his page

2018-05-21 23:03:52 UTC

i just watched that political correctness debate with Jordan Peterson... best quote from it... Peterson: "i never said that" - Goldberg: "google it" 🤔

2018-05-21 23:04:35 UTC

also... Michael Dyson comes of as an elitist, racist, lunatic

2018-05-22 00:04:45 UTC

That would make sense if there was footage or something but it's just hearsay

2018-05-22 00:04:54 UTC

And deliberate misinterpretation

2018-05-22 06:03:04 UTC

Googling? I would say someone like peterson, who is very aware of what he says, knows without google if he said something or not.

2018-05-22 14:03:22 UTC

michael eric dyson is nothing but a race baiting piece of shit. That's why i grunted when they announced him as the for side on that debate panel.

2018-05-22 14:04:01 UTC

He's the black Cenk Uygur

2018-05-22 15:12:28 UTC

People forget the specific wording they use all the time

2018-05-22 15:13:07 UTC

It's not an awareness/intelligence/intent thing, it's just human limitation

2018-05-22 15:13:21 UTC

Granted, it's still a shitty way to word it

2018-05-22 16:38:47 UTC

I still need to take time and watch the whole debate. I've seen a 10 minute clip of it

2018-05-22 16:49:01 UTC

It's not super worthwhile tbh

2018-05-22 18:08:11 UTC

the pro side is very much what you'd expect... exactly what they pretend to be against.

well... i actually have to disagree with Matt's new video... the "easy" access to guns in indiana does contribute to chicago gun crimes and the fact that the gun crime rate in illinois is higher than in in the neighboring states makes complete sense. The guns get bought in a neighbor state and then get brought to and used in illinois because the risk is lower because the people that follow the law are less likely to be armed there.

2018-05-23 18:37:00 UTC

They'd have to be smuggled there

2018-05-23 18:37:32 UTC

Ease of access to guns doesn't explain away Houston and Dallas, which have a lower murder rate AFAIK, while still being large cities in states with easy access to firearms

2018-05-23 18:40:16 UTC

of course they have to be smuggled their... are you implying that criminals respect the law? 😉

2018-05-23 18:41:22 UTC

and yes it does explain Houston and Dallas: higher chance of running into armed people while commiting a crime.

2018-05-23 18:41:58 UTC

basically... illinois is a soft target

2018-05-23 19:45:11 UTC

I'm saying you're going to have your rates of acquisition lowered by the realities of smuggling

2018-05-23 19:45:44 UTC

Also that's not an argument *against* gun accessibility now is it? ;)

2018-05-23 20:49:27 UTC

it's not the Hoosiers committing the crime though. It's Chicago residents. Whether or not the guns are stolen in Illinois or Indiana should be cited, but people from Wisconsin and Indiana are not going to Chicago to kill people

2018-05-23 20:50:58 UTC

The comment section is going nuts over that, though

2018-05-23 21:00:58 UTC

it's an argument against "indiana gun laws do not contribute to gun violence in illinois"

2018-05-23 21:25:44 UTC

But it's in spite of state gun laws that these weapons end up in Illinois, which was Matt's point

2018-05-23 21:26:25 UTC

And then the other half was the ease of access argument

2018-05-23 21:26:53 UTC

It's also worth noting that more guns doesn't necessarily equate to less gun crime either

2018-05-23 21:26:55 UTC

nah, it's specifically because of state gun laws 😉

2018-05-23 21:28:08 UTC

more profitable, less risk

2018-05-23 21:28:11 UTC

The notion that everyone has a gun so people are less likely to start shooting isn't necessarily true. Layman did a video a while back in which he found basically no link between violent crime and gun availability iirc

2018-05-23 21:29:06 UTC

But a significant portion of legal purchases came from IL stores in Cook county, so evidently that's not the case

2018-05-23 21:31:43 UTC

makes sense. if you buy a gun legally there is no sense in doing it out of state and complicate things needlessly

2018-05-23 22:17:51 UTC

You'd have to have some data on where these guns came from but since most criminals using them dispose of the gun and probably file any serial numbers it's hard to know where any of them are coming from. I think it's pretty obvious that if the federal government went as hard as Illinois and banned hand guns you'd see a significant decrease in hand gun violence everywhere including Illinois. It's just not something that I'd want to happen
