They're planning to drag their feet until after November in the hopes of getting a majority in the Senate after the elections. It's all dirty politics
Well, I get that, but it was still possible for Obama to nominate one. I agree that it’s a stupid ploy for the rest of Trump’s term, but we still have to try to be consistent. I think it’s a worthwhile discussion to determine if the stalling at the end of Obama’s term was also a bad tactic.
Thing is though if the republicans lose the senate in the midterms wouldn't they just ramrod through someone in the lame duck part session while they still have a majority?
They'd be really stupid to not do this if their nice guy tactics during this hearing fail.

I think it's a good so far. He basically started with saying they were saving the Ford allegations as a last stitch effort if the screening hearings didn't work, instead of releasing the info anonymously when it was provided to them.
