I've been pouring through scripture as well as documentation not included in the bible and historical records from other factions in the region for almost my entire adult life because I don't believe we're getting the whole story, and I don't trust the human portion of most churches

The human portion of church always needs some level of criticism in order for it to function correctly.

I believe that many in the church have forgotten the role of church in society. That’s mostly in part due to over reliance on the government

the thing about Jesus, he said to give to the poor. He never said "give to the government, so they can give to the poor"

in fact, there were several cases where he was quite adamant about leaving the government out of it
