This was a bit back, but Peterson wasn't wrong with his suggestion, in so far as he doesn't want our society trying to destroy each other from the insides, it's not good for any of us. It would show great humility for one to concede after a victory, in an attempt to heal a fighting side. But he has said many times, thinking out idea's on what "might" be best, will offend someone people, that's what it means to think/speak, you risk offending people.
It was really foolish of people like Mark Dice to say what he did, but its normal how people just jump to their "sides", without engaging in the ideas. I think Peterson will see tho (and may have already), that we can't just capitulate to how crazy the left is being right now, it would be like giving in to toddler throwing a tantrum (even for the outcome of a moment of peace).

@Shadows I agree. It’s really difficult to navigate the best option, especially if it’s to maintain cohesion. You are right that giving in to the extreme left would be really stupid at this point. I will say that if the far left tries to start a civil war, the majority of the country would side with us.

Well looking at things this morning....Yes there were way too much overreaching from the left over kav.....Also too much dancing in the endzone from the right......Peterson issue....After that first tweet he should have explained immediately why instead had to wait for the mob to press him. Blanket statements on decisive issues that are unusual need explaination. Personally I don't think he truely understands that you can never bend a knee to a irrational mob on any principle. He gets it on Free Speech but that also includes Innocent till proven guilty

well yeah there are always going to be those people cough(Mark Dice) and even if he went straight into explaining they would still be there. But I think it would have muted some of the people. Right has plenty of crazies just like the left.

@Shadows I like the way you articulated that. I think that might actually be one of the best options, as the non-radicals would appreciate it on both sides. No pleasing the radicals, but we shouldn't care about them anyway. It's the huge block in between the two sides that matters, that can change the entire course of history. Although I ultimately believe he should take on the job that our elected President assigned him, your option comes in as a close second in my personal opinion.

Oh, i agree, i'd prefer he keep the job also. That's why i added we shouldn't capitulate to them with this, but it wasn't the worst opinion for Peterson to toss out. When he is looking at whys to help the country as a whole work together.

Right. More and more I think on what the American people want, even if it means satisfying what Americans think they want. Mainly because I believe people generally pick up on things, and aren't as much dumb sheep as we enjoy assuming they are. I think there are pathways to reaching ideal places, and demanding everyone turn into selfless and principled saints overnight is just not realistic
