So maybe my lack of direct dependence on JBP has lessened the impact

2018-10-12 15:52:27 UTC

@Beemann what don’t you agree with him on? Just curious. I don’t necessarily agree with him on everything either.

Imagine my shock

2018-10-12 16:05:06 UTC

@Wolverine4576 not surprised at all. Lol

2018-10-12 16:20:36 UTC

It’s those pesky male feminists

2018-10-12 16:25:58 UTC

Lol. So true. If I were one of the republican senators harassed at the elevator, I’d tell the wamxn ‘that’s what they get for hanging out with male feminists’. Lol

2018-10-12 18:32:34 UTC

Man lots of stupid today

2018-10-12 18:32:36 UTC

@Salacious Swanky Cat I keep accidentally deleting when I mean to edit. JBP is religious and stresses religion, I do not and have never been religious. His biblical interpretations are also off from what I understand

2018-10-12 18:33:17 UTC

His use of Nietzsche, if interpreted as explaining Nietzsche instead of using him to explain JBP's own philosophy, is also incorrect

2018-10-12 18:34:53 UTC

I also disagree with his assessment of Nazism as "right wing", though I'm also not a fan of the "left-right" dichotomy. I don't think it's consistent

2018-10-12 18:48:32 UTC

@Beemann I’m religious and I’ve heard of some of his interpretations. They are a bit odd. Sounds nothing like I’ve learned in church.

I haven’t read much of Nietzsche’s work.

I agree that the left-right dichotomy doesn’t really explain political positions accurately. It seems to be more of a tendency rather than an actual explanation of political philosophies. I don’t know.

2018-10-12 22:38:09 UTC

personally I tend to think instead of the left right more as authoritarian v freedom

2018-10-12 22:58:45 UTC

Ok.

2018-10-12 23:05:13 UTC

Consider this question: A key criticism for libertarian philosophy is ‘who’s going to pay for the roads?’. However, I think a better question is have roads as they exist today really improved our lives as opposed to what may have developed with alternative transportation modes, like trains and public transportation.

In short: Have federal subsidies of roads actually exacerbated our condition as opposed to what could have developed if the subsidies weren’t implemented?

2018-10-12 23:20:09 UTC

The thing is, from what I see, one of the main obstacles to developing infrastructure is governmental interference by way of regulation - and it’s not just with roads, but with things such as telecommunications as well

2018-10-12 23:20:29 UTC

What’s really stopping people of a locality from funding that sort of thing on their own?

2018-10-12 23:21:10 UTC

Did anyone go see that Gosnell movie?

2018-10-12 23:21:25 UTC

Well, I’d say that would happen at the municipal level. Lefties consistently use composition fallacies.

2018-10-12 23:21:36 UTC

No. I’ve heard it’s sad.

2018-10-12 23:21:38 UTC

A recent case I had happen around me recently is the case of a local road that had been in disrepair long before I moved to this area/country, and half-rotten signs from different government entities (from local, to state, to federal) going back at least fifteen years saying they’ll fix it

2018-10-12 23:21:58 UTC

That movie was way heavier than I was ready for. That dude was messed up to put it mildly

2018-10-12 23:22:20 UTC

Yeah. I’ve heard.

2018-10-12 23:22:22 UTC

It wasn’t only until real estate developers started turning the area surrounding the road into suburban sprawl that something was done about it... practically immediately

2018-10-12 23:22:34 UTC

Was the road necessary though?

2018-10-12 23:22:50 UTC

Also, I wanna see it, but I’m in Australia so

2018-10-12 23:22:55 UTC

Might never have a release here

2018-10-12 23:23:15 UTC

Probably just gonna buy it on DVD or something once that’s out, get one of my mates to send it over

2018-10-12 23:23:25 UTC

I'm sure it'll have some digital release. The real disappointment was seeing how empty the theater was.

2018-10-12 23:23:33 UTC

We would be living in far denser communities too.

2018-10-12 23:23:50 UTC

@Salacious Swanky Cat yes, it was one of the major arteries leading to one of the outflows to the freeway

2018-10-12 23:24:11 UTC

Was a constant factor in complaints re traffic, wrecked wheels, punctured tyres etc

2018-10-12 23:25:20 UTC

Oh! If you're Australian, not to hijack ya'lls conversation anymore than I already have, any recommendations for someone looking to spend a week there? I'd prefer to steer clear of tourist heavy areas for some true Australian culture

2018-10-12 23:31:08 UTC
2018-10-12 23:31:19 UTC

@SteelandSouls go to Outback Steakhouse. Lol

2018-10-12 23:47:47 UTC

@SteelandSouls where in AU were they planning on going?

2018-10-12 23:48:00 UTC

Cause I don’t really know anywhere outside of Victoria...

2018-10-12 23:51:16 UTC

I was considering Adelaide

2018-10-12 23:52:52 UTC

I’ve only been to Adelaide twice, and while it isn’t bad, it’s... I dunno

2018-10-12 23:53:04 UTC

A pretentiously sad imitation of France

2018-10-12 23:53:11 UTC

Or Marlborough in New Zealand
